Comment:

Well, I'm pretty sure she is actually a robot. I think that if you were to pour water on her she would short circuit and explode. As others have said, she just reads slide that she copied from the text book. Sometimes does the homework and gives unhelpful assignments. Constantly repeats the phrase "Out there". She is a robot. I'm sure of it.

A lot of material is covered in a very short amount of time, and she just sits and reads PowerPoints. She doesn't do anything to help students or do examples. I haven't missed a class and am managing a B from reading the book, but I feel like I'm having to teach it to myself. If you can't teach this to yourself, you're screwed.

she reads the book for the lecture. only two classes out of the entire year were spent in a lab (other than lab designated periods). when u ask for help she just does the h.w. for you. no one comes to class b/c a waste of time. mos tof class is failing, and i can see why. class/teacher was an utter disappointment.

I don't understand why she's still teaching. I come to class everyday, I have a tutor, NO extra credit other than the extra like 7 out of 600 points she gives you. Only 7 or 8 people show up for class except on tests because she reads the book for lecture. Average class grade in Blackboard is a 54... DONT TAKE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. NOT OVEREXAGERATIN

The class its self is hard and labs are time consuming. When you ask for help your often more confused than if you hadn't asked at all.but if you do the work and put in the time that's needed you should do well

This professor just uses a PowerPoint presentation of the book, which I read at home so this is a waste of time, then they wonder why we don't go to class. I did go but it helped little. I think this class was made harder then it needs to be by the way it was taught. If you can take a different teacher I would suggest you do that.

Will someone fire this teacher already? HORRIBLE teacher. She reads from a powerpoint in a monotone voice. Prepare yourself for a whole new level of boring. I would give a limb to not have to take a class from this teacher.

Not that great..seems like she would rather be doing somethig else while she is teaching class..says "out there" at least 100 times per class..irrelevant but funny. Her tests are incredibly hard the class average on the 3 exam was a 54 and the average in the class was a 63..I would really try to get another teacher..

Lectures are non-existant. She only uses the publishing companies lab and hw problems and dosn't work through anything w/you. The book is horrible and she doesn't teach. I tried to learn it on my own but the book is crap! You have to have help outside of the book just to understand it. I was very disappointed!

Smullen's just as bored as you in class, and she shows it. Do the homework questions, attempt the labs, and find previous copies of tests, and you'll have an A, even if you never show up to a single lecture.

Don't take Smullen unless it's your only option! She is a horrible teacher! Her lecture consists of reading the captions of the pictures from the chapter. Her tests are very hard unless you can get a hold of last semesters tests. Unless you really enjoy teaching yourself then stay away!

She is horrible! All she does is read off the slide show. You must read and fully understand the chapter before you come to class to keep up. Her class average on test is always failing and there is no curve. On the midterm our class average was a 32 and the next class she went on to the next lecture without reveiw. Take ellis if possible.

averages 33-49 slides per day. each slide is teeming with information. very hard if you try to learn by lecture. you will do much better if you just read the chapter and ask questions on things that arent clear.

She goes way to fast for an intro. course, and she will not be willing to hold up if you need extra time. She does give good curves on tests though, but usually not enough to get an A. If you take her for this class, READ THE CHAPTER before she goes over it. Then you might be able to understand it.

Really wierd. Probably somewhat crazy. She says "out there" after EVERY OTHER SENTENCE. It doesn't even make sense. That said, her class isnt too difficult, mostly cause I get the feeling she doesnt know much or doesnt care much...you decide.

She is very boring to listen too, but it is easy to get an A in the class as long as you listen. She gives good curves on tests, but she goes way too fast in class, and she expects you to know the lingo before you even touch the book. So she is ok, but not great.
