wow where to start. Professor Boyer is def one of the worst professors at CCC. The readings are not difficult. But the classes are very boring and his tests are ridiculous. You are req to write 2 well written essays in 1 hour (3 if you are absent on test day). You have no clue what the essays are going to be. Drop him immediately.

Very hard at grading. Must have book with you at all times, or else points off. He trys to be funny by making fun of other people. He requires attendance every class and dont be late for the first or second class because he counts them and doesn't give you a break. Test are way hard and he expects you to read 50 pages per night, then re-read them.

If you come to class prepared, you should do well. To keep up, one must stay 20 pages ahead in the readings and bring your book to class at all times. Quizzes are spontaneous, so that's why it's necessary to keep up on the assigned readings. One of the best teachers I have ever had! If you have trouble, GO TALK TO HIM!!! Do what he wants you to do, and you will be in the clear. its one of the best classes i've taken. I'm taking him again for myth lit. Great teacher, really sarcastically funny. I might add i'm not the best writer there is, and i managed to do very well. Definitely rewarding for people who like to do the work and make the effort.

Teacher is a VERY VERY VERY difficult grader! My grades range from 15's on quizzes to 95's - ODD. However, I tend to be an A student. How hard could reading something and writing about it be?- Take this class and your whole outlook will change. I dont recommend it, it was embrassing to tell my advisor I failed world lit 1.

I have Prof.Boyer for World Literature and I enjoy taking the class. He does not make it easy on you because he wants you to do the work. This is the greatest reward. If you are not prepared to a) be in class, b) do the required reading, or c) listen to simple instruction when taking the exam, then you should not attend this class. A++++ for Boyer.

(Myths) Liked him so much the first time- took him again. Same style diff class: quizzes to make sure you do the reading, multiple essays on tests. Nice guy, willing to help. Funny- mean on the first day to scare away nonserious students, that's it! You have to do the readings and make an effort.

this is by far one of the most miserable and offensive people i have ever met. he has nothing but rude things to say about students and life in general, and atleast once during every class he would find a way to offend everyone from blind people, women, and mentally challenged people.

The class is tough, and he is very sarcastic. I do not feel that even if I was to give 200% and go to the writing lab I could write to his standards. I will say this be warned if you want a class were you have to find someone who is an English major write all your papers to pass then go for it. If not withdraw and find another teacher.

He is very sarcastic. If you are not used to being around negative people, it is very hard to tolerate him every other day. He made several off handed comments in class. He can be offensive in his references to the material and life in general. Be forewarned!

Class was fun and easygoing. Occasional quizzes to make sure we kept up with the readings but the questions were rather easy. Tests were two essay questions. Teacher was friendly and I had no problem with him despite the negative ratings on this board.
