I took a creative writing class with Dr. Wright back in 1997, and 20 years later I still say with utter confidence that he is the reason I went on to study English and become an instructor at the community college level. His class was a 'safe space" before the term became part of popular pedagogy, and I really needed that.

This was one of my hardest classes ever! I was used to receiving A's on all of my papers in previos classes and have been told I am a good writer... Not with him, he grades extremely hard and I got mainly C's on my papers; however, I received a B.

He is very hard!!He grades papers as if you are a grad student! His odd personality makes class humerous. But when he returns your paper there is nothing funny about it! I made a D with him and an A the second time around with Ms.Laskowski. Enough said!
