He is so funny! He makes the entire class laugh and I mean everyone. He is so inspirational and so easy to understand. He respects his students and answers all questions. We do classwork and we can work with another person. He is so easy, we only read a few pages from the textbook to prepare for the lecture that day. Easy Easy Easy A!!!! So caring.

Parise was an easy teacher in my opinion, he gave fun, informative lectures that were relevant to the work he was giving. he is also easy grading and does not expect a whole lot. definitely would recommend for phil 1

Beware when you take this professor. Syllabus states 100 points but at the end of the semester he rips you off 20 points off the syllabus because he ran out of time. Most frustrating class experience I ever had and not a lot of extra credit. Lectures are just repeated from previous lectures. Good luck if you take this class

This professor is one of the best teachers I have had. He is hilarious and knows how to keep the class entertained. Great dude and an excellent learning experience. Would definitely take again!

It's true that this professor is hilarious, however if you value your GPA then the hilarity of the class is not worth it. 100 points given through the entire semester. The professir penny pinches the points and sets you up for failure. 4 points off your grade is literally 40% off your entire overall grade. I suggest you look into another professor

I took PHIL80 with Dr. Parise in the fall of 2018. He is easily the best professor I have ever taken. He is very funny and very intelligent. I have taken him multiple time for other philosophy classes. I have learn a lot in each class I have taken and I was always excited to be in class and looking forward to it. Take him and you won't regret it.

He easily got off topic & wasted valuable class time frequently. By the end of the semester, we were a month behind where the syllabus said we would be. I felt like I did not learn much about religion but he talked about his "schizophrenic" neighbor for hours. He is kind of funny but the fact that he acts like a comedian was NOT worth taking him.

Loved him, very energetic and funny. Always moving around the class and making jokes. Very theatrical in the sense that he had very large gestures and movements and expressions.

Philosophy-70 a.k.a The Parise Comedy Hour was easily one of the best classes I took here at Chaffey College. Not only did I learn the material but I also saved money on Improv tickets by just attending his lectures. Do yourself a favor and lighten up from the stresses of college while also learning the material in a relaxed setting.

Dr. Parise is a very funny (and interesting) character. He is very well respected and he will make you laugh. Textbook is required but it's not expensive. Every class mtg. is lecture and a short quiz - 5 points each; 1 midterm (super easy) and 1 final. Don't be absent, take your notes (which he provides) and you should pass with a solid A or B.

Fast Track-- it was a great class. His lectures are awesome and he is hilarious!!! No homework most of your grade is based on in class assignments-- but make sure you do your best on them because those missed points matter. Also you got to go to class to do the assignments.

Parise makes listening to lecture easy. He's super funny and approachable. He doesn't assign a lot of homework, which is both good and bad -- good for obvious reasons and bad because you get less practice and less graded work. He only tested us once and it was a take home final. Overall, if you need an easy "A" this is the class for you.

Dr. Parise is a great teacher of critical thinking. He goes on tangents but it always relates back to the subject matter. His personality makes the class really enjoyable and his anecdotes are a bonus. He is very clear and if you don't understand anything he will re-explain it to you and help you out until you get it. I'm glad I took this class.

Yes this class was 3 1/2 hours at NIGHT, but Parise put so much effort towards motivating and giving reason to finding interest in any topic or discussion. He provided the necessary tools and guidance to help anyone understand a philosophical introduction on religion.

Okay so this professor is absolutely crazy! He is probably one of the most HILARIOUS professors I have ever had. Although I didnt learn much in the class, it was good. Really the only reason I showed up was to listen to his crazy rants. Easy A class, definitely worth taking.

Decided to take this class instead of English 1b. Overall, GREAT! I had no interest in the subject but his lectures make you interested. Easy grader, easy going and again SUPER FUNNY! I’d recommend going to all the lectures, he usually test you on passed lectures. I didn’t buy the book and still got an A. I would defiantly recommend!!

Professor Parise is by far the best professor I have ever had! I NEVER wanted to miss his class, I looked forward to every session! Not only is he entertaining, but he really makes you think critically. He knows exactly what he's talking about. His class is fairly simple, just pay attention! TAKE HIM! I guarantee you'll love it!
