Comment:
Baer teaches at a higher level than most teachers. A lot of theory thats not applicable. Notes are posted online and are not too difficult to read, but difficult to understand if not in class. HW every Sunday, but feels different than the exams. No study guides but talks about the exam a few days prior. Curves exams a lot. Study hard. Fair guy.

Not the best lecturer, he assumes class understanding of diffeq is higher than it is, and will get off topic with math related to the question but unnecessary for us. Only points are from a bi-weekly hw assignment on webwork and tests, which he doesnt give a review too, but will tell you what topics you need to study. Attendance not needed.

Really fun/friendly guy. Good amount of sarcasm. Lectures well (you can tell he's VERY familiar with his slides by now) and his notes are available online. Provides everything you need to pass the class. First few lectures were definitely a bit slow, and especially early on he pauses a bit too much for audience feedback.

Not too bad. He was kind of boring and just read off the notes that he wrote before class started.

Honestly he is a decent professor. He teaches a lot of the theory behind everything before he shows you how to solve problems which can be helpful but is also very boring.

Professor Baer is a nice guy, but not a great teacher. His lectures are slow and hard to follow, as he skips steps in his notes and in class. Most of his examples are completely theoretical, which makes it hard to understand what he is doing. The exams are not too bad, you can teach yourself everything you really need to know the night before.

Dr. Baer is a little bit scatter-brained and was not always the clearest professor. The lectures did not always fully explain the examples. You do have some grade buffer, it's just frustrating as a student trying to understand what's going on.

Honestly, I had a tough time following most of his lectures because he seemed unprepared. The textbook helps make concepts far simpler than the way he presented. He's a very kind grader though.

Even though this score looks bad, Dr. Baer is not a bad professor. First, get him to post his lectures because that is helpful. During the first half of the course you must know anti-derivative calculus (off the top of your head), otherwise you will get lost. He sometimes explains steps way to quickly. Studying is the way to succeed.

For the hour long class he just lectures and writes on the board. His lessons are very unclear and never relate to what he assigns for homework so you have to teach yourself as you do the homework. However, he is lenient with due dates, gives take home quizzes, and has a very large curve.

Dr. Baer is a fantastic teacher! He's not teaching 267 in 2016-2017, but he's honestly the coolest professor I had this year. He really knows what he's talking about, and you can never go wrong picking him as an instructor. He's pretty funny too.

This class was rough, one of the hardest I'd taken. 4 Midterms plus a final 1 midterm is dropped and he has a pretty generous grading scale. The problem is his tests are quite difficult compared to the majority of his examples. Pay very close attention and study webwork thoroughly and you'll pass

Comment:
Examples given by the teacher are very simplistic, while those on the assignments and exams are extremely complex. The test questions seem to be chosen on a basis on which ones are the most convoluted in order to ensure that one does not possibly have enough time. Teacher goes too in depth in deriving the proofs for equations. One of the worst.

Baer is a little unclear at times but he really looks out for his students. Has a weird grading policy but nobody in my honors section got less than a C for the class. Lectures aren't mandatory but I would recommend going. Tests are about once a month and are fairly predictable. Homework is all online and somewhat easy if you pay attention

Decent professor. I wouldn't recommend not taking him and, from what I've heard, it's much better to take him than any of the other Calc III professors that are available so, there's that,

I loved this class and the way he taught it. If you like math it's definitely for you, if not it'll take a bit more work. I think he had a very fair grading scale and he's just a fun guy. His handwriting is a bit sloppy but it's really not that hard to read through it like other people are saying...

Homework is super easy, tests/quizzes are all over the place. Better be good at all the weird integrals and you probably don't remember and expect twisted versions of anything gone over in class. You will be tested on material irrelevant to the class. Don't expect to reason with this man, you'll only get frustrated. Use the book. Got me two A's.

Tests and quizzes are pretty difficult, but Baer has a decent curve. Expects you to learn most of the material on your own, but he gives plenty of help in doing so. Not too harsh on grades, but you'll have to work hard for an A. Overall, decent.
