So sweet and funny and passionate about music. Totally understands if you know nothing about music, just wants you to appreciate it. Fun children activities and easy workbook that you have all semester to do. Then partner lessons that are easy, 1 music concert report and music website (project) but more comparing and writing an essay on it

Share a textbook with a friend (you use it for 3 lesson plans). 2 recorder checks (no stress, least a B if can play/read few notes), 2 concert reports (2 pages each), midterm (will give chance to retake, it's on everything in the workbook, tells what to study) & final. Lots of chances to fix grade. Easy A, fun class, just try and you will do fine.

Wonderful and inspiring educator who has plenty of experience teaching in K-12 as well as teaching adults how to teach music to children. One of my favorite classes of the semester, learned much and feel confident if I choose to teach I have the tools to effectively work with children with a music curriculum. She is engaging, flexible and fair.

This was my second music class so I already knew a lot of the material but my friends struggled a little bit. She does not always explain clearly, but you can visit her office hours and she will provide more explanation. A lot of lessons in front of the class but mostly with a partner. Have to play the recorder. Let us use wkbk on midterm.

Professor Metz was an outstanding music instructor. I had no previous music experience and I feel like I learned a great deal about music for my future students. All of her assignments were reasonable, straight forward, and helped further understanding of the musical concepts. Take her, you will have fun and learn how to use music in the classroom!

The sweetest lady ever! Made learning music super fun. Some written assignments, pages in workbook to complete, 2 partner assignments, 2 recorder checks. Book needed. Takes role everyday. Learned a lot about music. Super understanding and goes out of her way to help her students succeed. I took this class for elective credit.

Professor Metz is a person who has a passion for teaching. She may be critical at times but it's for your own good for your future teaching career. She's always willing to help when you don't understand something in class; she prepares and gives you important reviews when tests are near. There'll be alot of presentations, but she'll go easy on you.

She is so sweet! She genuinely cares about teaching and really pours her heart into it. She tries to make class fun and it really is. The tests aren't hard but you do need to review your notes. The lessons are fun and she really understands what we're all going through. I definitely reccommend her. She is an awesome teacher!!!

Prof Metz is an AWESOME teacher. She is kind and VERY understanding. Lots of presentations but have no fear bc she will help. Go to class and study thoroughly for exams bc they can be hard. Other than that, prepare to have fun and experience new things with music!

Comment:

Not only is Sue Metz a wonderful teacher, but a very kind and decent person who I learned to respect a lot as the class went on. She never makes you feel stupid, even though the subject matter was new and scary to most of the class. Several presentations, but she helps you a LOT. Quizzes easy, and tests follow the study guides to a tee.

Great teacher!! Loves her job and wants others to love music as well. She made class fun and easy to learn music. The exams are not too hard. Most people found it to be easy. She goes over what will be on the exam. She tells us what kind of questions might be on the exams (almost the exact same questions). Fun class!! Take her!!

Really good class. I would recommend for anyone. Teaches music basics, how to teach kids, can be slow if you know music but you will still learn something if you pay attention. You learn how to play the recorder, do a concert review, quizes, exams, present lessons. Good teacher.
