Relatively easy class. Exams are based on lecture and textbook reading, which you MUST stay current in. Lecture adds to what you read in the book, so attendance is necessary as well as readings. Lab practicals are exactly the same format as labs. Makes sure you understand the material so that everything is fair game for the exams.

GREAT teacher. She taught me so much and was clear, plus fun. On the first day I was intimidated and thought of dropping the class, but I'm so happy I stayed. The class is NOT easy, but it's totally worthwhile if you put in the effort. She never makes students go overboard with studying. Her courses are perfectly balanced. - Happy student.

She is a very inspirational woman and a very good lecturer. I took this class 2 semesters ago, and I still remember the material, that is one of the most important things to me when I leave a classroom. Even though I was at a borderline grade (89.9) she still did not give me that A. so Beware, she is a TOUGH grader. but very interesting!

This class is NOT easy, you need to study hard for it but it is fun and very interesting if interested in human evolution. Unlike what previous students have said, grades are actually based on 3 midterms test and 2 lab tests, as well as 10 labs you do in class. She offers extra credit on all 3 of the midterms.

She's a real professor, if you can't deal with the difficulty of this class (which is standard, not particularly hard) you are going to get eaten alive if you somehow manage to transfer to a decent UC. shocking to read the reviews that describe her as boring, or hard. It seems pretty standard to me. Yes, you have to pay attention for 3 hours, duh!

Go to class, read the text, take good notes. She's incredibly smart and knows what she is talking about. I knew nothing about anthro prior to this class and am now considering it as a major. I study my ass off but am reaping the benefits with solid grades. Take this class!

Amazing professor! I love anthropology but was never interested in the physical portion until I took this class. She makes it so exciting! I've gotten As on everything so far but I study constantly, so if you're looking for a class to "cruise through," this one is not for you. However, If you're interested in evolution, this is a must!!

She is great. Nice helpful! Go to class because the lecture is at least half of the tests she gives. She also gives you her lectures on a zip disc a week or so before test. Great help, great class. Wish I would have showed up to class more.

Very, very boring class. 3 hour lectures, even an iPod wouldn't get you through those hours. She's nice but very strict and basically few or no second chances, no bonuses, difficult exams, long boring labs, miss one and you're doomed. Try avoiding this class by all means. This class made me hate anthropology. Biggest mistake of my college career.

She is amazingly organized and crystal clear about this hard science material. She teaches very well. Her exam is hard but there is a 10 points extra-credit being offered on each exam, no accumlative final. It's a hard class but it's very interesting. I got a B, but enjoyed and loved it!

This is a difficult. Not because of the teacher but because of the material. There is an extreme amount of knowledge to intake. She's seems cold at first but not when you talk to her. She's very helpful.

I hate sceince I am horrible at it but this class was okay. Its actually kind of interesting which is funny cause once again I hate science. Its not an easy class you'll have to work at it. I gave maybe 70% effort & got a C. You can miss lectures & have someone sign you in & get notes. Overall shes cool & class is good. Better than chem & physics

Dr. Gauld is an amazing professor. Her class was interesting to take, and will definately learn a lot from her lectures. Be sure to take good lecture notes; it will help a lot for the exams. Learning on your own from the textbook is a plus! The labs are easy and fun if you review them throughly.

dr. gauld was an amazing professor! :) her lectures were fun and easy to understand, labs were interesting, and she even gave EC essay q (10pt max) on all 3 midterms! just make sure to review the lab workbook BEFORE the lab day. (you'll be REALLY lost during the lab if you didn't review it the day before.) take dr. gauld's class if possible!! :)

respects students and a good teacher. i only recieved a C, but i'm so not a science person. for that reason i wish she gave out study guides to helps us a little more, and did'nt base our grade off only three test. maybe spread more points around for homework or assignments. an interesting subject, but at times got boring from her monotone voice.
