She makes the class harder than necessary. She dont post score and you have to go to class to get your exam. Her lectures are not useful. Her exams for 50min class is longer than exams of other professors for 90min class. She gives grade according to the rank of your score which means even if you are doing pretty well, you could still get a non-A.

Bebout is a clear argument against tenure. Maybe the laziest professor I have ever had. Who doesn't have office hours? Isn't that a college rule you have to? AVOID AT ALL COST!

I love Beebs! She truly cares about the success of her students and is an incredibly fair grader. Her exams are quite difficult but they are the same as the homeworks and old exams. Tries to do demo's every class and is a genuinely nice person. She's definitely a character though and her outfits are always amusing. Would definitely recommend!

Gen Chem II - I struggled through this class, honestly. Taught myself mostly out of the book because I couldn't keep up with her in the lectures. Tests were tough, but her review sessions are helpful and she's a genuinely nice person.

Bebout's gen chem 2 was the easiest chem class ive taken (out of 2 years of chem). The material is hard, because its chem 2, but she does a great job of teaching it. Her outfits are hilariously stuck somewhere in the 80s. Her experiments never worked, not once, but honestly it was a great laugh walking out of the door, she will make you laugh.

I love biochem and was excited for advanced biochem but was sorely disappointed. She assigns a ton of reading that is honestly pretty boring, and doesn't actually teach. We gave presentations all through the semester rather than her doing anything. Our final was helping her prepare for next year. Avoid this class with her if at all possible.

Bebout was a good seminar teacher, very approachable and very interested in the subject she was teaching. I was not very interested in writing or chemistry, but I ended up doing well in the class and my writing improved.

Bebout did a fantastic job teaching this class for her first time with Gen Chem II. She explained the material well, although toward the end of the semester some was a bit rushed. Above all Bebout was fair in her grading - offering alot of partial credit and extra credit. Although exams were difficult, effort put into the class pays off.

Bebout is good. It was her first time teaching the course, but she did a good job. On two sections in particular (Molecular orbital theory and crystal field theory) she could have explained it a little better and given us a few more examples in class, but besides those, she explained everything well. Also, she is crazy spontaneous! Which is fun.

Very, very hard, but also very fair. This was the hardest class I have ever taken that was also do-able. She expects ALOT, but her expectations are also clear. She cares that you learn the material and is not out to trick you. She is very intelligent and manages a whole bunch of elementary school age boys at the same time. Great woman.

She seems to expect you to make complicated connections on her own, so a lot of tests and problem sets are extremely difficult. Not a cake walk, but a very energetic teacher and a great class for pre-meds, especially majoring in chemistry. Difficult but worth your time. She is willing to help outside of class, too.

She is not that bad, unlike what everyone says about her, a very organized professor, 95% of test material comes from her lecture so go to class. She's a very smart woman and that may seem a bit intimidating but she is more than fair, expects to intellectually stimulate you.

when you study 4 hours a day for a week for a QUIZ and get a 60 percent, even though it's one of the better grades in the class, it;s bound to be frustrating. Her testing style is confusing and unreasonably hard - there is a point when something ceases to be challenging and just becomes ridiculous.

Absolutly horrible. She is the most unapprochaple professor ever. The refused to honor an excused absence from the Dean of Students office and instead of allowing me to make up the lab in another section like every other professor, didnt excuse me until the end of the semester when it hurt grade.

I was really looking forward to this class at first, but she pretty much killed it for me. maybe she just didn't want to teach a writting requirement class/freshman seminar, but she made a seemingly fun topic really boring.

It's very frustrating when you give up four hours on a thursday night each week for her lab, do awesome on the actual lab experiments, then get screwed over because of her VERY specific and difficult tests. Okay i suppose

just make sure you check your graded lab midterms carefully. mine was graded incorrectly. if i hadnt checked, it would have made teh difference between a D and a B. she is willing to help though, very approachable.
