Comment:

Does not reliably respond to messages about class. Seems to just copy & paste most class material from other sources... she doesn't care and it shows. Nit-picky about silly things. Doesn't seem very well versed in how to give good photoshop assignments despite teaching a class on it. If you actually care about learning, try someone else.

Comment:

She is fun, engaging with whole class. She is firm but patient helping out. Talks fast reviewing chapter sessions so keep up. Late homework you lose full credit. Students show work and get applause for work. Assignments grow from light to very heavy toward the end of the course. Helps to study ahead.

I took Susan Herrington's class for IT 1010 for the Summer semester and it was online class and she's amazing! The material was very clear and very understanding! The homework and quizzes were really easy. I recommend on taking her class online!

She only really helps a couple people SHE thinks are serious about photoshop and everyone else gets half hearted help. Very condescending and not motivating her students to learn. Her lectures are very short, she yells at the class to turn off monitors and watch her talk and demonstrate. (not everyone is a visual learner)

Without a doubt the worst teacher I have EVER had. Super lazy. All she does is sit on her computer. I can only remember one time that she actually taught us something. The rest of the time I wondered if she even knew the programs she was supposed to be "teaching" us. Get ready to learn all of the material online by yourself

I took this class online. Her extra assignments were not well thought out many required you to use skills not yet learned. I wish I could have just taken a class using only the photoshop book the instructions are much more well thought out. The few interactions i did have with the instructor were unpleasant. On the + side she grades generously.

Homework daily and I learned a lot! Homework was assigned both in class and on Bb so pay careful attention. She's generous with grades if you do things on time. The instructions for projects were a little fuzzy. Get into good groups - a bad group can hurt you. Test material came from the LECTURES, not the textbook. Participate & you'll do fine.

Uninspired and melancholy atmosphere. She has a stupid "monitors off" rule and spends a lot of time threatening to make class harder if she finds anyone with their faces illuminated by a monitor. The option to learn PhotoShop along with her lessons, a great way to learn, is therefore impossible. Tons of homework, but she grades generously.

I don't think I could've asked for a worse teacher. She really doesn't explain the work or what she wants you to do. Forget about help. Another instructor helped me more with Susan's classes than she did. It seemed like she set us up for failure with the quizzes. She'd tell us what to study and it wouldn't be on the quizzes.

I had Susan for Advanced Photoshop online and I loved the course so much I took Illustrator with her too. She is very organized, thorough and expects you to be as well. I wish I could take another class with her. Great Teacher!!

Seriously the worst teacher I've had. She's rude and seems like she doesnt care about the students at all. She doesn't respond to emails and if you try asking her in person, she responds with "I don't know what I can do for you!" Beware.

I was shocked to find this a hybrid class meet once a week and do the rest online. On the first day of class Susan announced that she did not hold hands. She wanted her class to be a problem solving class regarding Photoshop. However, the projects assigned challenged me to be better than ever! I ended up loving this instructor and style teaching!

I Hated this teacher ever since the first day! I am so advanced, even in advanced photoshop! I worked at least three times the other students and I got the same grade. She is mean and strict. She took the fun out of it.

I want to make sure this is the right class Adobe illustrator, yesterday she snapped at a guy across the room for asking a question then told him I know you don't like my teaching style anyway, another student wanted to learn instead of videos she responded if you don't like how I do it leave, others do like it,,, not me, or any one else likes it

Great class all around - Lots of assignments that come directly from book - Wish the class covered a more current version (I used cs6 for the class and had to seek out how to do things on the internet since book/software version was cs3/4) - Susan is a great Professor and is very open to help when you have a problem - Don't hesitate to take!

Comment:

My 2nd class with Susan. She is always helpful, answers emails, guides and helps. She knows what she is talking about and you will learn well from her. I love that she is direct, and doesn't sugar coat or beat around the bush.
