I highly recommend Professor Bassler!!! He is very very clear and methodical when explaining concepts to students. He makes attending lectures highly worth it. Even though the material is more difficult compared to other classes, Bassler made it much better. Go to tutoring as well and you will be at the top of this class.

Professor Bassler is very passionate about physics - you can easily tell from his lectures. He's a thought-provoking and sincere guy who really tries to spark intellect in his students. However, simply put, his teaching style isn't anything superior. Wish he clarified concepts better and explained in-class questions in a more understandable way.

Very smart, but very boring as well. He lectures straight off of the ppt, which follows the txtbook exactly. HW is pretty difficult but will help prepare for the test. Go to class so you don't miss stupid points for attendance. Tests are hard but gives very generous curves. A doable class and if you work hard, you'll do well.

Passionate lecturer, but he doesn't present the material too well. In retrospect , exams were very doable but we were never taught the methods. Near-failing test average with a 18/25 final exam landed me a B+ so the curve is GENEROUS. Self -study is the key so if you buckle down (something i failed to do), an A is well within reach.

This course was my first drop! Extremely hard class and very poor lectures. He's a nice guy and definitely tries, but I definitely should have listened to everyone when they said don't try and take Physics at UH!

Professor gives moderately hard Multiple Choice Questions for exams. His lectures is quite hard to follow if you do not refer to the textbook. However, he is patient when giving explanation about his lecture after class. Attendance in class matters for clickers, if you focus in the clickers questions will help better in understanding.

Following Lecture material is complicated if you don't read the book. Workout examples from the book for exams as most of the tests consist of calculations. Professor is very monotone and lectures are boring. Clickers for attendance consist of 3% of final grade and you can get away with not attending lecture.

WIll not be clear with grading policy or keep class syllabus for students, homework is just sent in email no very specific, doesn't go over it once graded, everything is for accuracy even homework, so no chance to learn from trial and error as every wrong answer deducts points.

From the first lecture, I could tell this guy was passionate about his field of study. He enjoys teaching and wants his students to learn, discuss, and thoroughly think. Had to work hard for an A and there was lots of online homework. However, tests reflected it accurately. Would take another physics course with him as the instructor.

Boring. His method of teaching consists of reading lectures from his slides with a dramatized voice, and having students to solve homeworks on the board. He normally gives two exams and a final and they are ridiculously long.

Everythin is straight out of the book and so is all his lectures slide show. Says he takes attendence and participation, not sure. You have to work in this class to earn a good grade. But a cool guy though, understanding.

Not very helpful in working out examples to better understanding. However the book is VERY good and he follows it to the letter. Lectures consist of Power Point presentations. Exams had only 6 questions, 3 conceptual, 3 quantitative.

Great prof, doesn't do a lot of examples and takes pleasure in extorting your ignorance, but really challenges you in a fun way. I liked the class.

Very good teacher. One recommendation though - admitting to not know something is not a crime.
