Dr. Rosenberg is kind of at a point in life where she doesn't really care. She doesn't seem to enjoy cell biology or enjoy teaching it to students, and she is extremely technologically impaired. I was surprised how helpful she was outside of class though, but her exam questions are difficult and confusing.

Switches with another professor.Uses slides with 2 much info on them. Doesnt know how to use clicker polls and the time limit well.Talks fast and doesnt allow for much questions.Exams are hard, use book to understand material better.Discussion consists of some homework, slides, group work(not graded),and quizzes.Class avg(not in discussion)now is 70%.

I had her for cell and immunology, and got an A in both. A truly awful "teacher"... rude and unapproachable. Avoid if possible, especially for upper level classes.

She is a manageable professor. Memorize her slides, since she is keen on details, she is not really about big picture, so get ur memory skills ready. I never had to approach her, but sounded like she can be mean when talking to you. TB was not even necessary, I just reviewed the slides and took notes on them in class for clarification.

She's an ok lecturer but her questions on the exams were extremely difficult. You have to know every minute detail from all of her powerpoints to get a good grade in this class. Don't really need the book. There was a huge curve (>79 was an A). I was able to easily get an A just by reviewing her notes 6-10 times before the exams.

Dr. Blumberg's protege, when it comes to teaching, at least. Slides are copy-pasted from the textbook (with a ton of errors). She reads these off in class. Exams are copied from these slides with a word or two changed here and there, with lots of ambiguity. I got an A thanks only to a semi-photographic memory. Goodluck to you all.

Dr. Rosenberg is one of the best professors I've had at UMBC and immunology was my favorite class! Class is straight forward- your grade consists of reading papers and writing a grant proposal (it's not as tough as it sounds) and a review paper. As long as you make an honest effort to learn the topic you should be fine.

Without the curve, we would all fail!! Clear, well organized powerpoints, but she just reads them off without explaining. She is unclear in lecture, but really knows her stuff if you track her down in her office. Gives hard, in depth test questions about stuff she has covered, but that no one understood.

She is TRULY horrible. DO NOT TAKE IMMUNOLOGY if you care about your sanity/classes/graduation. She is rude, mean and a tough grader. She picks on people and is NOT student-friendly AT ALL.

Absolutely horrendous. I hear she's an amazing researcher but I haven't had a worse bio teacher at UMBC. Can't use the tech in the lecture hall worth a darn, so the mike was feeding back the whole time she lectured. Reads from slides and gets confused by her own changes. Test questions can be confusing. Awful.

Comment:
She is very unfair when it comes to grading tests; if there is an error in her grading, she will not correct the entire class's scores, but rather will require that you come to her to have your grade fixed. Also, she becomes much meaner after teacher evaluations are turned in. She also just reads off of slides, and her tests have trick questions.

Really hard to stay awake during her lectures, but luckily they are avoidable if you own a copy of powerpoint. Every lecture consisted of 90% her reading exactly what was on her slides, and 10% wasting time waiting for students to guess what the experiments labeled/dyed to prove how the golgi works... Exams are specific and very tricky/wordy.

She's a very hard teacher, very intimidating, doesn't stand for anything...This class is biased for students who already have prior lab experience. She expects grant proposals, papers when exams are due and LOTS of reading.
