Comment:
Chemistry is hard. Prof. Fickel does not expect anything beyond the scope of any comparable chemistry class. If you don't do the work, you'll fail. If you don't keep up, you'll fail. It's not a math class. Your math degree isn't going to do sh*t if you're too stupid to grasp the theoretical and conceptual components. I thought he was great.

What a loser - this guy is a dufus. He doesn't know how to teach and doesn't care!!!! I think he knows his stuff, but he rambles on and on like an idiot and no one understands what in the heck he's talking about. I WISH THEY WOULD GET RID OF HIM - HE'S A DOPE and his "text book" is a JOKE. Completely unintelligible.

The problem with rediculously brilliant people is that they have no idea why you don't understand everything the same way they do. Fickel has a hard time communicating. I found that he was much easier to understand one on one than in a classroom setting. Ask a lot of questions. It's the only way that you can prevent yourself from being left in the dust.

What a horrible teacher. I mean, he's a nice guy, but he just doesn't know how to teach and HE'S NEVER AVAILABLE. He doesn't answer e-mails or return phone calls. He doesn't listen to the students or understand our needs. I wish they would put Dr. Lennartz in charge of the entire Science dept.

He is like a franctic lunatic scrawling on the board his various formulas and theories. His book is unintelligible. He assumes because he understands everyone else does. I'm have a degree in Mathematics and this guy is a moron!

Very glad I took the class. It was the hardest class I have taken so far but I learned so much, it was definitely worth it. Somewhat hard to track down for questions after class but during lectures he will always stop and answer the question.

Dr. Fickel is an incredibly nice professor. He's always willing to answer anyone's questions - no matter how silly or redundant it may be. The only downside is that his course is very rigorous...
