I took this class online during a summer semester. Due to technical difficulties the class was not active for several weeks after starting. There was little communication from the professor as to what we should be doing. Tons of reading and hard homework assignments. However, easy final and tests are pulled directly from homework. Read and get an A

This guy is a great teacher and very passionate about what he does. Trust me, ive had bad experiences with physics prof's. He makes this class as good as it can get. Physics is very hard, especially 2211 & 2212. But he makes the problems and concepts understandable. I highly suggest taking him.

If you are open to learning the subject, he will teach you. I have seen other teachers try to explain concepts, and he is a lot more clear in his explanations. He tries to get you to think about your question when you ask them instead of hand feeding you answers. Ignore the lazy people commenting.

Well honesty, Dr. Cooke is not a bad professor. Yes, physics is not a subject that you will get off top. But, Dr. Cooke's class is very interesting & I learned a lot in his class. The lab class is too easy. And you don't have to buy a lab manual. He's a very nice man who is flexible with his grading. Just show you care about the material & STUDY IT

Incomprehensible. will not directly answer your question. Takes an entire class to do 1!! problem. Even if you study all night for the test he will give you a problem that you cannot answer because of minor knowledge. he replies your questions with another question.

He's a good, nice guy, really. But that's where it ends. He doesn't teach, and doesn't have clear expectations of when things are due. This class is one of the biggest regrets I have yet. I tried to stick with it because I'm not a quitter. What did that give me? A D in the class, a 2.95 gpa, and no HOPE. I regret this class so much.

The class was 1020 Lab. Teacher seemed alright at first, but almost immediately one notices his condescending tone when asking for help or clarity. This man does not care about your grade and seems to take joy in seeing non hardcore astronomers fail his class. He smiled as people struggled on the final. DON'T TAKE.

I took him for 1010 and lab.. OH MY GOD. He doesnt really give notes. Just lectures and you can write down what you want. Tests over multiples chapters. He picks any random thing from the chapters that he wants. No study guide or anything. And it's all essay form. 1st test class avg was 47.. HMMM. After 2nd test I dropped. USELESS. DONT TAKE

He changes the way he teaches each semester. For PHYS 1111, he was decent. I came out with an A, & i barely struggled. Even so, when I took him the following semester for PHYS 1112, he had COMPLETELY changed his teaching methods. His class became more difficult just because he had no idea what he was doing. He keeps getting worse. DO NOT TAKE!!

He is hilarious. I really enjoyed his teaching. At the beginning of the class, he starts out by saying that hes going to change the way you think, and he does. He never said this class was easy. I think he's phenomenal and if you didnt get a good grade in his ASTR1010 class, you just didnt listen. His comments are hilarious if you pay attention.

He is a BAD teacher! He is so broad with his explanations and answers questions with other questions. His lectures are very unclear and tests consist with 5 short answer questions, the final was 8 short answer questions and we didn't even cover all of the material that was on the final! DON'T TAKE HIM!

DO NOT GET THIS TEACHER! He could care less about you or whether you pass or fail. He is an intelligent guy, but is very aware of it and never misses a chance to be condesending to students. He's arrogant, doesn't help at all, and whenever I asked him a question, he answers vaguely or not at all. Avoid this guy and save yourself the frustration!

He is THE SECOND WORST TEACHER AT GPC. He teaches concepts and spends each class period on 1 or 2 problems. Gives horribly hard online homework that covers meterial that he doesn't cover in class. NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES DO NOT TAKE HIM.

This teacher was amazing!! I never wanted to miss class because he kept things interesting and we always learned something new that was actually worth while. The tests are easy if you just pay attention in class. If you are taking astronomy you must take this teacher!!!
