Loved this class! One of the few courses that I've been actually sad to see end. Extremely interesting. Glad I got him before he retired!

The class was interesting, but the readings were difficult to understand. The readings have too many big words jumbled together and you practically have to read over everything twice to understand what it's saying. The final had many questions about stuff we never learned in class. He is very confusing and unclear about assignments.

This is required for Arch majors...but I'm not sure why. A complete waste of time and tuition money. I think I learned more during the final than I did through out the entire course of the semester. Prewitt gets very off topic. Only a Midterm and a Final were assigned and the midterm was a take home paper and the final was an inclass discussion.

This professor does NOT teach well at all. He is unclear, talks about nothing to do witht the topic of study. He expects you to show up to class and learn, but only talks about sexual topics. He is very boring & I will not take his class again. The grades were based only on 3 critiques and a group project, which again taught you nothing important.

This class was online and was a complete disaster. The first assignment was way over everyone's head and I dropped it soon after because there was no explanation and no help from the instructor.

I took several classes from Dr. Prewitt 10 years ago, and then went on later to get a Master's degree. He was probably the most influential teacher I had. He's an exceptional professor.

His lectures were completely useless unless you enjoy listening to him sing Irish ballads & read cyber ounk novels. He was a pretty cool guy though.

Took his anthropology of religion course online over summer '07. Being a business major and taking this course as an elective, I was a little nervous after the first few assignments. He is very willing to work with students and is easy to talk to. Also, the curves in the class on quizzes and tests are massive, so that helps out a lot.

Dr. Prewitt is awesome. He truley cares about the student and that seems to be rare at UFW in recent years. He is interesting and knows his stuff. He makes the class fun and tries to engage the students. If you do your asignments and attend all of the classes, he rewards those who care.

He is very dedicated to his students. Yes, he does go off on tangents, but in my experience he's always wrapped them back to the subject at hand. Learning isn't always about stuff in the textbooks, after all. He is one of the most supportive professors at UWF and truly loves his students. Big hint: make an effort in the class and he will help you!

He could be a great teacher, but OH MY GOD the man cannot stay on topic to save his life. He's one of the nicest teachers, in the anthro department, in person. And I have no doubt that he's probably very smart. However, his lack of ability to get even a simple idea across is so annoying that I make an effort to avoid his classes.

Don't take him if you don't like not knowing what's going on in class. He's incredibly smart, but he never talks about the subject at hand. He's a fun teacher though.

I love how, even if your answer is "wrong" if you can justify it, he gives you a passing grade on the question. Science wouldn't be science if no one questioned the status quo.

I constantly found myself scanning the classroom looking for cleavage or a burned out light bulb. Enjoys talking a lot about politics and "Lucy" ,an extinct monkey believed to be our ancestral grandmother. Taking his class reminded me how good life used to be at Burger King.

Obviously knows his stuff. However, he comes across as very disorganized. In our class he rarely stuck to the sylabus, and often went WAY off topic in his discussions. So far off topic that the origional point is often lost. I didn't really learn as much as I wanted to in his class.

Great professor in artistic classes; Anthropology of Dance was great; however, seems to have trouble teaching above students'learning ability. Has tendency to ramble a bit, and goes off on tangents that do not seem to have bearing on class, making it hrd to grasp the actual point of the class.

What can you say about an openly pagan professor who really knows his stuff? He teaches you HOW to think rather than tell you WHAT to think.
