Comment:

He is a cool professor to listen to in class, and he knows what he's talking about but he is a rediculously hard grader! He's also quite rude and unapproachable. He told us about a time a girl asked for help and he asked if she'd ever considered that she was stupid. Doesn't give study guides, if you can avoid taking him, please do so.

Comment:

Classes are tough right from the start. Heavy on stats so if you didn't do well, take another prof. Test questions really make you analyze the details and can be a litte confusing. He is available for help but rarely gives good insight. His famous response is "are you asking me or telling me"

Comment:

Hard at first because he goes over the first few chapters too quickly, but as the class progresses, he over explains easy and repetitive concepts. His "quizzes" are more like exams, but you get to have a formula sheet. He gives ppt notes and occasionally has handouts which makes it hard to keep all of the notes (notebook and handouts) organized.

He was a pretty good teacher. Didn't have to use the book too much because he had powerpoints everyday which were helpful. The class was pretty interesting. The only thing is, I sometimes felt he was trying pick on some people to embarrass them if they didn't know the material. cool name though.

Dr. Sawyer is a good prof. His class does require a lot of studying and reading..you do have to take lots of notes but if you do all this you will be fine. The papers that he assigns are not so bad...the only hard things will be the tests. Nice guy though..

Lots and Lots of notes. You will learn SO much. Very interesting. Great sense of humor (I still retell some of his jokes, LOL) Expects a lot and can be a hard grader, but the knowledge you walk away with makes it worth it!

Best psych professor here. Actually made me enjoy this class, which I was not expecting. Excellent teaching style, makes a difficult subject workable and always willing to help. Not an easy class, but an interesting one.

Awesome, intelligent, helpful, likes to make jokes, talk about drugs, looked over papers before due date, helped even with my writing. I think tests are the easiest I have taken in college, just looked over notes before class.

Fantastic professor. Very intelligent. Expects a lot from his students, so do the reading, and his tests can be hard, so study. But you will learn so much from him, I'd recommend taking this class.

he is a real nice guy, study class notes there are 2 essays, fill in the blank, and multiple choice on the test and he combines all material for the final. He expects alot and if you miss class you will miss alot there are over 8 pages of notes each day....this school stinks go to ISU it is better:)

This is a very interesting and insigtful class. It is a good class for nonpsych majors as well. Sawyer is extremely enthusiastic about the topics of evolutionary psych, if you know what I mean ;)

Statistics is much easier with him than Dr. Kelley. He doesn't cover as much though so if you're really interested in it, take Dr. Kelley. Dr. Sawyer lets you have a sheet of notes for the tests--write small and include all formulas and examples.
