Prof. Joseph is a genius. He uses real-life examples to apply the concepts from the course. He's extremely accessible outside of class and encourages everyone to stop by his office hours, if those don't work he is willing to work with you. There are a lot of quizzes, but he gives extra credit for taking all the online and in class quizzes.

He was so passionate about weather that I ALMOST questioned if I should become a meteorologist myself. He makes the class interesting, but not that easy. His two big exams & final exam were pretty difficult but if you study hard for them & take advantage of his office hours, you will be fine. He also gives a lot of chances for extra credit.

Paul Joseph is incredibly passionate about his job. His class is a lot of work. You have to be willing to put in the time. If you do, you will get a good grade. He offers a lot of extra credit and is open to meeting outside of class. It was a challenging course, but it was worth it.

I like Paul Joseph, he's pretty cool. His class is not an easy A. I would take this class if you actually want to learn rather than blow off class. I still think about a lot of the concepts even now after the class is over, I'm glad I took a risk and learned something new. I never knew the weather could be so interesting.

I really respected him as a professor- he's a funny guy who has a real passion for the material and is a respected man in the industry. I would take his class over again just to hear his lectures and stories. The material isn't always the easiest, so you have to work a bit for it, but I found the class to be very interesting that I wanted to learn

paul joseph is the worst professor i ever had! i will advice to who ever reading this not to take survey of meterology and paul joseph to do your college life a favor. class is so hard to understand, exam is so hard to get a b- never mind an A, the class average have never been above C. He should retire i dont know why he is teaching. avoid paul!!

Paul Joseph was a great professor, he treated his students like adults and those who are whining about him obviously don't understand how the real world works. he is very clear in what he expects and it's not overly hard to do well in his class, you do have to apply yourself a bit, but the material and the lectures are interesting.

Though the material for this class isn't very hard, the way the questions are phrased and the toughness of the grading will hurt your grade dramatically. If you know someone whose taken the class then get their old test and quizzes. Passionate but not a great professor.

A retired weatherman. I thought we were going to be able to learn about cool weather and storms, you learn about weather concepts and cloud fronts. His tests are hard even you know the material he likes to ask trick questions. He gives the definition of concepts but doesn't explain how to use or apply them. It was hard and I'm glad it's almost over

Without Question the WORST teacher I have had at marquette. This man is so in love with the weather that he feels the need to punish those who don't. Once stated he was proud of how few A's he has given over the years.

Comment:
His wording is overly vague. His use of multiple choice format coupled with the "All of the Above" option is used as a way to fail students. You don't always know when you're going to have a quiz. And his teaching style is deplorable. He was a meteorologist for many years, but that doesn't transfer to being able to cleanly convey the ideas.

Prof. Joseph is a very sweet old man. I love him. Meteorology was pretty boring but he does a FANTASTIC job. He explains the concepts very well, it's all conceptual rather than memorization. I stopped opening the book after a while and just took notes in lecture and managed just fine. And it has no lab. Best science class.

Material can be difficult, but the professor really wants to help students. Tests only cover what he goes over in class, take good notes in class & don't bother reading the book. He holds review sessions before all 3 tests and posts last year's exams on D2L to help you study. Take advantage of the resources he makes available, you'll get a B.

This class was so hard. The prof used to be a weatherman, and he knows what he's doing, but he's not very good at teaching it. Show up to every class because you can't afford to miss a quiz. The tests were hellish and most of the class got less than a C.

Extremely hard teacher. Acts like he's really helpful but goes way too fast and when you ask him a question he doesn't know how to answer it. Tests are so hard. Not an enjoyable class. Get out of it if you can
