Pay attention to the common thread between reviews. This instructor brings entirely too much subjectivity to a quant class. Course materials are 20 years outdated and you'll spend more time worrying about losing cheap points than learning anything valuable. Avoid if possible, as he covers all the negative stereotypes for tenured professors.

Definitely a difficult class, and an unreasonable professor who refuses to answer questions. I ended up teaching myself most of the material- don't take his classes unless you're a mind reader.

Class is made up of 3 exams and is purely based on lecture. I only used the book for the first exam (B+). I didn't even bother opening it for the other exams. A lot of exam questions are based off examples in class. Take very thorough notes. Highly recommend bringing a laptop because of the pace of his lecture.

This professor style of grading is very bad and he test students knowledge and understanding based on just exams. C'mon there should be at least some individual assignments, and group work for students to catch up if they fall short in the main exam.

He's very knowledgeable however he is not helpful. He's very vague and he grades in a way that makes it impossible to pass I feel you are not a good test taker. His excel exam definitely needs a format. I found it difficult to get any straight answers. You can't miss more than one class which I wouldn't advise. You definitely have to take notes.

I really enjoyed his class! Excellent professor, old school teaching mentality which I appreciate but some may find a bit daunting. He does have very high expectations, however you will do extremely well if you take great notes and just PAY ATTENTION. Simple as that, learn the material and you will get an A.

As long as you do the reading assignments, show up for class, actually listen , and take notes, you should do fine on the tests. I thoroughly enjoyed this teacher, who cares about the students and has a good sense of humor. His examples were right on to illustrate the different aspects of Marketing, which made the world a lot more interesting to me.

He was not helpful at all. Your grade is solely based on tests and won't do anything if you are not a good test taker. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I am convinced he actually hates the students. Get out while you can.

I did well in the class. As prior comments indicate - if you take notes in class and study those examples, you will do great on tests. HOWEVER, I will say he was not helpful, and didn't make himself available outside of class for any type of support.

Avoid if possible. Grade is more based on how well you follow the book he wrote rather than statistics. His final Excel test needs to be in a specific format, however, he does not say that. He is really not clear about what he wants until he gives the grade. He simply cares more about the class and his ways rather than seeing people do well.

I am not sure why this class is so difficult for some people. Pay attention in class, all the examples he talks about will be on the test. The math problems are exactly like what you go over in class. No surprises. Just study and you will do well. I learned alot in this class and enjoyed it.

Great Teacher! I learned so much in this class. Definitely will get your moneys worth and great use of class time. There's a midterm, final, excel exam and research proposal. Professor gives lots of examples in class that are very helpful and useful. Sad he has a bad rep for actually teaching.

You will learn in this class and get your moneys worth. He doesn't waste any class time. The class is very feasible if you study. He gives so many examples that if you pay attention in class it cuts your study time by like 50%. This professor gets a bad rep, but is actually a Very Good Professor!

Grades solely based off of midterm test and final (both multiple choice with more than 50 questions). Anyone who is a bad test taker should find another professor. That being said, I personally didn't find it too difficult. He still uses overhead projections and can be painfully boring. And by painfully boring, I mean it hurts bad.

The four hour night class can really drag on, and still uses overheads for his notes; his tests can be very difficult and if you want a good grade you need to study for hours upon hours but it is possible to do well. The textbooks practice tests online were a huge help in understanding the important topics of each chapter.

Teacher is nice and uses a lot of examples during the class.. BUTTT his tests are extremely hard and if you don't have time to read all the chapters 50 times than i suggest not taking him.

I strongly suggest anyone currently taking this guy to drop the class IMMEDIATELY. After haven taken this class it was evident that he was vague, possessed little knowledge and overall a bad instructor. He was unreasonable to all and unable to answer most questions of students and above all his teaching methods old fashioned - still uses overheads.

Stubborn and unwilling to listen to student's concerns about the material. Does not field questions in class, stating that it is a waste of time. Only tests by lengthy multiple choice exams, many of the questions created to be deliberately misleading. I wish someone had warned me ahead of time as I would have dropped immediately. You've been warned

I think this professor gets a bad rapp. Yes, he requires alot from you, but is not unreasonable. It seems to me that when a professor makes you work, peers say he is a bad professor. He is a great professor for those of you who actually want to learn something. If you don't, well then he's not the guy for you.
