Shiromaru-sensei is a very kind woman, but she's just not a very good teacher. She's hard to understand, doesn't cover much material and simply doesn't seem to know what she's really doing most of the time. Steer clear if you're serious about learning Japanese.

I learned a lot from her class. she gave students a chance to get lot of extra credits for every quizzes and final. if u don't skip her class a lot and do the extra credits for every quizzes. I am pretty sure u can get a good grade!! Easy A !! and nice teacher ever!!!!

I really enjoyed her class. Very creative and fun. I like especially when we have native speakers guest to practice conversation in group. Now I'm in JAPN223, but I wish we could have more advanced classes with Shiromaru Sensei!

Take this teachers class for an easy A and that is it. If you are atually interested in seriously learning Japanese DO NOT take her classes. She seems to have structured her classes for Elemetry students, not college. Homework isn't really manditory, she gives time in class and rarely checks it. Over all a useless class in my opionion.

Alot of people seem to like her class because it's an easy A. However she actually teaches quite a bit, she offers alot of extra credit on every quiz so that you will actually study more of the material. She keeps a fun atmosphere to the class and if you really want to learn Japanese this is a very good starting point.
