Honestly never went to class but got a 100 on all the projects. Class is just people talking to each other and field trips. Took it to fulfill a credit. Gave me insight of what its like to be a soci major from the eyes of an NSM student. Cool teacher tho, super easy class.

I learned so much in the class. It was not easy. On weekends I looked forward to class. She is so intelligent and cultured. She is also a bit of eye candy. She is pretty in a very sophisticated sort of way. I would go to class just to look at her too! Recommended to all intelligent people

This is a writing intensive course, but all the essays are autoethnographic (about yourself) and she drops one at the end. No tests - final project is a 'photo essay' assignment. I actually learned a lot about myself in this class and really enjoyed it. I hope I can take Dr. Karner again. She is very interesting.

She was awesome! She is so nice and the field trips were fun! I learned so much in this class. The paper wasn't hard at all. Basically was how you went about doing your project. It seemed like a lot of taking pictures but you get used to it. Great class! She makes you want to come to class!

Took as a hybrid. Caution: TONS OF WRITING. Do not take if you hate writing papers! There are 9 4-5pg papers due every week & a 7pg film analysis. Best part: no exams & final project is an easy/fun autophotography of yourself. Decide for yourself if it's worth it. Her lectures didn't make sense to me, but luckily we weren't tested. But you need to show up cus she takes attendance. That said, she is nice and passionate about socio.

If you like to write and think a lot then go for it. If your more of a multiple choice question person then don't choose her.

She is a very good teacher & the classes were super interesting. I think it's really cool that she gave you the textbook online. BUT, know how to write... grades are based on papers (and one presentation), so it's imperative to follow the syllabus exactly: DO NOT turn anything in late ever... it's 5 points off, 5/20 not 5/100. Just follow the rules

American Society class - meet only once a week (1 1/2 hr). Very fun and interesting class discussions. 4 papers (4-5 pages each for the 4 books), 1 book grp presentation (2-3 page summary paper), 2 field assignments (2-3 pages each) - very interesting and easy field assignments :) and 1 final project

There is a lot of reading and writing but if you stay on top of it the class is very easy and she is very helpful and interesting. This is not a good class for a procrastinator but you can swing it even if you are. Take this class for a look at the American Culture it will surprise you greatly. But be prepared to read and write.

Good professor, excellent sense of humor. Hate the TA - Geneviere! Dr. K is fair and available for help. She has the perfect personality to teach death and dying! Would love to take her again for another class.

Writing Intensive class. YOu simply relate the readings to your own personal experiences and write a weakly 5 pg essay. Grades easy. Easy A OR B, just show up to class b/c she gives an attendance grade.

Excellent professor. This is not a class for the illiterate, she does give writing assignments. The "in case of death" notebook assignment is very practical, something everyone knows they need to do, but tend to procrastinate about.
