Dr. Seshagiri may be the best prof in the department. She is able to articulate difficult concepts so clearly and understandably. I was often in awe of her eloquence. The workload for this class is heavier than most, but Dr. Seshagiri is so inspiring and informative that it was easily worth it. If you're passionate about literature, take her.

HORRIBLE. Unclear in her expectations. She is randomly aggressive toward people in class, especially when she seems to be unprepared. Never felt so disrespected.

You have to pay close attention in this class, but I adored it and her. Make sure to do the reading!! She is a little strict on essays but she prepares you very well for them and is very clear about what she wants. You can only miss two days, but other than that I loved her!!! Definitely recommend!

Dr. Seshagiri is absolutely incredible. She requires a great deal of effort for her class but she makes it worth it with incredible lectures and feedback. Her grading really isn't too harsh and she is more than happy to help if you meet with her outside of class. If you are an English major and do not take her you are really missing out

Dr. Seshagiri is (actually) an amazing professor with tremendous love for her subject and for her students. ENG 421 (Modern British Novel) requires lots of reading, but the novels are wonderful and Dr. Seshagiri's explanations about them are incredibly helpful.

Couldn't ask for a better professor. TAKE HER CLASS. You have to work for your grade but you'll learn so much. She is extremely knowledgable, well-spoken, and caring. She made this ENGR major want to take higher level literature classes. I came in impartial to fiction; left with a passion for it.

WOW! Dr. Seshagiri is the most brilliant professor I've ever encountered. She is an expert on the material she teaches and you will come out of her class a much better reader and writer. The class is challenging as there is lengthy homework each night; however, she is clear in her expectations. Overall, the class was fantastic!

I took Prof Seshagiri's class because of her glowing reviews and reputation. I soon regretted it. She is brilliant, yes, but it comes off very arrogant. Not helpful, VERY close minded when it comes to interpretations. She gave no clear grading criteria and does not use blackboard. You are completely unaware of how you are doing in the class.

Dr. Seshagiri is one of the best English profs at UT. Though she's tough, it's not for no reason. You will come out of her classes a better writer and more appreciative of literature. Her lectures are top-notch. She's insanely smart. Encourages office hours and is helpful when you need it.

Seshagiri is definitely the most brilliant professor that I've had so far; in the absolute best way possible. The work's pretty straight forward, but she gives a short time period on her assignment due dates. There's reading every night, so beware. Overall, I'd recommend her class to anyone looking to learn about fiction.

Dr. Seshagiri is extremely intelligent. She knows her material, explains it well, and makes you want to learn what she teaches. She encourages revising of papers and office hours as well as really trying to learn your mistakes so you can become a better writer. Most importantly, she teaches you how to read and look for detail. Excellent.

Dr. Seshagiri is, by far, the most brilliant professor I've had thus far. She is passionate about what she teaches, and she knows her curriculum inside and out. She's witty and absorbing, never boring, and you will leave her class with a better grasp of the English language. I guarantee it.

She is my absolute favorite teacher at UT. You can feel her passion for the novels when she lectures, and she'll edit paper drafts if you go to office hours. Everything that comes out of her mouth is brilliant - I have six pages of notes for almost every novel we read. MAKE ROOM in your schedule for any of her classes, you won't regret it.

By far the most articulate and intelligent professor in the English department. Many professors are brilliant, but they can't convey it; they can't teach. She can. I found her lectures captivating. Her class is not any more difficult than most other upper-level classes. She is witty, open-minded and happy to help (respectful) students.

Possibly the best professor in the English department at UT (and I have heard other professors say so as well). She has an incredible knowledge of her subject area and is well-known in the field. I found her class challenging and her lectures incredibly interesting. I would highly recommend her to anyone serious about the study of literature.

Dang, she's SO smart. The only thing is, she talks a lot about her own thoughts and doesn't open the floor to hear student comments until she's done, and sometimes the class has zoned out by then. She grades tough, which I like since I've had many teachers who just hand me As so they won't look bad.
