Mr N is a nice professor but you really need to be good at history or study a lot to do good on his tests. I studied a lot and barely got a C :/. Only 3 tests to study for no essays or homework. Very knowledgeable guy and is there to answer any questions. Would take again!

Grade is based on 3 exams. You have to relate terms with each other. Lectures are straight forward and funny. Just take a lot of notes of what he says and writes on the board. He will give you a study guide before every exam. Follow it and you will be ok. He asks questions based on the chapters assigned. No book work or essays. Highly recommend.

He is funny but his class is boring and his writing is unreadable. The tests are not base from the study guide... Review the note before the class bc he will ask every students to say what they have learn in the last class. Difficult to get an A bc the grade is base on tests and class participation, few extra credits available.

He makes History fun. There were many lazy international students who would talk during class. They still wanted to receive an A, even tho they didn't understand the class. He would sometimes have a few students who would ask questions after class. They basically were contesting their grades. Hahaha!!!! They were told that their writing unreadable

Prof. Nebrida is one of the hardest professors I've had. The grading scale is based on points, which are accumulated with 3 exams. The exams are based on terms that have to be followed by specific dates and how they are related to each other. If you aren't specific not the exams, you will not pass.

worked hard for this class and still got a B... such a tough grader. Very picky, and marks you down for every detail that is missing. Every point is basically a percentage for his grading system...

Study topics on canvas aren't even asked on the exams, so don't bother studying your brains out on them. What IS on the exams are in his hour and a half lectures right before tests. Extremely boring unless you're attentive . If you can't remember dates of eventswrite an essay about definition words, dont take this class (thats all u do).

Not a good professor as everyone says. He has crappy hand writing for example when he spells out California it looks like Cafeteria. He is unorganized. Lacks on grading. He will burn you out if you put silly answers on the test/exam. He is not clear at all on teaching this subject. It's most likely sleepy time for you if you pick this class.

This was a hybrid in person/online class and was accelerated. I found Nebrida corny but hilarious, which I think is really the secret to any good teacher. Like most professors he's an in your face liberal. Most of the class seemed centered on how bad America is. He gives a fair amount of extra credit, I got a 5% boost for it. Study!

Received a B because of his harsh grading during tests. The class where the t.a grades them apparently had an easier time because my friend who took it receives almost perfect in every tests.

This class was one of the best I have taken. Mr. Nebrida makes you get interested in history and every class is funny. The tests are all open answer, but you have to be very detailed.

Nebrida is a great. Tests are based on class lectures. He makes lectures very fun. He lets you exactly what will be on the exam. There is no way anyone can fail unless they do not pay attention to his lectures.

He expects you to self teach yourself from the book. In class he goes over nothing related to the book. His TAs grade the work really harshly. He jumps from one subject to another without some sort of transition.

I personally never used the book and got an A on most of his test based on his lectures right before the test. Assigned a couple of extra credit reports. TA's were annoying but if you really needed help they were alright.

I took Victor Nebrida's 7B ITV class over the summer. This class will actually teach you history in context. I am not a huge history fan, but I did pay attention in class, took notes, studied, and got an A. People who downrate this professor are angry that they did poorly or had to work for an A. Take advantage of the practice 'relationship' quiz.

Good professor. Took the ITV summer class so we met 6 times a week. Grade was based on 2 in class exams, 5 quizzes and 1 final online multiple choice test. I do not exaggerate when I say that all I ever did was skim through the reading and pay close attention to his discussions and that was enough to get me an A. Gives chance for 5 EC pts too.

Took his class for 6 weeks during summer. Taking good notes during lecture is crucial. Tests are based on in class discussions. He guides you through main points of study and gives a lot of options for the in class essay quiz. I enjoyed his class and learned a lot during in class discussions.

I had taken this class with Cairo and his class was hard! Nebrida is pretty laid back and a really funny guy. I hated that the class was only on fri for 3 hours! But it wasn't so bad. He goes over everything during lecture so take good notes. I never even bought the book but I like history so I know my stuff. I got a A. He gives some extra cred.
