Be on time or be yelled at lol. If you want an A in your BITH gen ed, take Bacote. I had an awesome preceptor so that's probably why the class was easier and I had read "Engaging God's World" in high school. If you really want to be challenged by a robust theology class this isn't the one, but then again no BITH-111 class will REALLY do that.

Dr. Bacote is a good professor. He's generally engaging and the class is, on balance, easy. Paul Cable was my precep and he was awesome though!

Comment:

The quizzes were difficult as he always quizzed on minor details and the readings were long and sometimes hard to understand. His sense of humor (or lack thereof) was frustrating and he seemed to constantly be trying to make the students feel guilty. I would not recommend him for lower level courses, although I have heard he is better for upper.

Bacote is fantastic! He is really knowledgeable, funny, and reminds me a lot of a youth pastor. The group research projects are work, but they really are beneficial. I recommend him hands down.

Dr. Bacote was an overall good teacher... he has a really sarcastic sense of humor, so it usually makes his class pretty interesting. We had a lot of guest lecturers. A lot of class participation and debate was based in our seminar (get Mr. Treat as your preceptor!!).

Good prof for a meh (but required) class. Has a very sarcastic sense of humor - so beware if you have a hard time with that sort of thing - but is very likeable. I didn't get to know him well, and his quizzes were REALLY annoying, but I recommend him pretty highly.

Bacote is good... probably the best of the BITH 111 profs. Be aware that a lot of grading is based on your preceptor (a phd student who leads your seminar), since they grade your papers. It's some reading but not too bad, he's an engaging lecturer, and a heck of a nice guy. If you follow the syllabus it shouldn't be hard to do well.

Dr. Bacote cares genuinely about his students and is more then willing to invest on a personal level despite the large class size. The class itself was not my favorite but I think taking it with Bacote was my best option since the class is required

Bacote is a professor who understands what it means to be a Christian educator -- he doesn't tend to radicalize his beliefs, but still manages to introduce various world views. Fun atmosphere, easy grade, good prof.

Fun class to take, especially when he brings in his musical guest. Not too challenging. If you want to pull a lot of hard facts out of this class, you might want to try someone else. We have a lot of discussion. Overall I really enjoyed class.

Very good prof. Class wasn't too hard or stressful.. Bacote keeps it entertaining/interesting and he is just a likeable guy. Highly recommend.. definitely the best Prof for BITH 111 as well

I found Dr. Bacoate to be at best an averge professor. He is bright and helpful but a mediorce lecturer.
