Comment:

I love Dr. Barfield! He is the best teacher that I have ever had. He loves to make fun of his students but never mean spirited. He is very clear about what is expected from his students and goes over the test information before so you know what to study. Attendance is definitely mandatory so plan to go to every class. Work hard and you'll do fine.

GREAT guy, always talks about his past students so proudly. He moves through lectures pretty quickly but is always willing to back and explain IF you ask him to. Great sense of humor and a really sweet professor but can be a tough grader. DO NOT skip class--he's very serious about attendance and you'll likely miss a lot of information anyway.

Comment:

Dr. Barfield is my FAVORITE professor in the exercise science department. That being said, he is very difficult and will make you work hard for your grade. He is extremely knowledgable at what he teaches and therefore explains the topics thouroughly, but in biomechanics it is up to you to take time to practice the problems and ask questions.

Dr. Barfield is the smartest man I've ever talked to. He also makes an effort to get to know everyone in the class so if you have any questions he makes time to answer it. Very tough class, but that was expected at a 300 level.

I absolutely adore Dr. Barfield. This class is very difficult, but I knew it would be. In class he goes pretty fast, but if you meet with him in his office, he will take the time to explain to you whatever it is that you don't understand. He cares about his students and does his best to make this class enjoyable.

Barfield is in incredibly intelligent professor who teaches an incredibly hard course in the most clear and easy way possible. Go to class and participate! He encourages you to ask questions and problem solve as a class. Study based on his verbal study guides. Print notes! Start preparing for the final well in advance and dont procrastinate paper!

Barfield is a great teacher. He cares about you learning the material and expects you to take action by studying and doing your part. There's no hidden agenda, he tells you what will be on everything. It's a hard course, but he's a great professor.

Barfield is definitely the most intelligent professor I have ever had. This sometimes makes it hard to understand though because he talks in such a technical way. The material is tough and he definitely makes you work for it. Put in the effort, go to every class and you'll do decent. Oh and get ready for a 12-15 page group research project.

Barfield is hands down the best professor I have had at the College of Charleston. If I could take every class for my major with him I would. He is very helpful, and his lectures are super clear. He is a tough grader, but if you go to class and pay attention theres no way to not make an A or B.

Barfield is a great teacher. He knows a lot about the topics he teaches and class is very interesting most of the time. You DO need to attend class to do well because all his quizzes and tests are based off of the information he tells you in class. If you have him for EXSC 330, work extremely hard on your presentation and group paper.

Loved him...If you show up, take notes, and pay atten. you'll be golden. He can be a little confusing on certain topics, but is more than willing to work with you if you go to him. Pop quizzes so make sure you study every night. Put work into the group project, don't leave it till the last second! Overall great professor

One of the best teachers I have had in college. Extremely smart and willing to talk to you outside of class if you are struggling. Show up to class everyday or you will be behind. Study for pop quizzes every night. Exams are easy and so is research project

LOVE this prof. Stay on top of the material for the pop quizzes. DO the study guides for the exams. He has interesting stories he shares, as well as snarky jokes. Attend/respect the class, and you will do well. Barfield is a great prof, even if he comes across as really strict.

I can not emphasize this last point enough: PICK YOUR GROUP WISELY. I got screwed with mine and it was an awful experience. Do this and you will makean A

I have had Dr Barfield for 3 classes. He is a really nice and extremely intelligent man. He is very approachable! Here is what you need to do to be successful in any of his classes... attend class! (mandatory), study his notes, ask questions, and let him get to know you. He really is a great guy and he is a great teacher. Don't be shy.

Kinesiology is never going to be "fun," but Dr. Barfield makes it bearable. He's a really nice guy, and he's kind of a smartass, which definitely keeps it interesting--great sense of humor. For the project, choose your group wisely and PRACTICE your speech. If you need help, go to his office and he'll gladly help you. He made me want to do well.

i love this prof. he is cool, funny, and if you work hard you will be rewarded. terrific memory..its scary. intense class you must look over your notes daily. Let him know what is going on with your groups early is someone is slacking. he really takes care of it. Use notecards to study for exams..saved my life!

Challenging class but very interesting. All powerpoints and not much text use. Gives you packet of powerpoints at beginning of semester. STUDY. Very difficult tests and long paper and presentation at end of semester. Start early and pick group wisely.

Comment:

Class can be boring at times but funny teacher and knows everything about everything. Goes off on tangents and tells lots of stories. Tests usually pushed back a day or two because gets behind on teaching. Class was fun and not very challenging.
