Dr Zhang made Calc 3 about as easy as you possibly could. Explained everything thoroughly and did a quick review everyday of the material covered in the last section. Also, if you attend class very often and you end up with like an 85 or 86 he will most likely give you an A

Dr. Zhang made the class as easy as calc 3 could get. Very nice guy, always eager to help ! And very understanding if your falling behind.Quizzes come straight from hwork. Tells you exactly what's going to be on a test. Awesome guy, I ended up getting like a 98 in his class. Take him !

Excellent! I love him! He is a great teacher and he really cares! He answers all questions and gives a lot of homework. The quizzes come straight out of the homework and the tests straight out of the quizzes!

I took both linear algebra and differential equations with Dr. Zhang this semester as well as his Cal III class last fall. He does go fast and he does expect a lot out of his students. However, if you try, do your homework and ask good questions, and then have decent test/quiz grades you will do just fine in the class.

I have taken Dr. Zhang for Cal II, Cal III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. He is NOT a difficult professor. Most people here just want an easy A, and yeah, he is not your guy if you want to skate by. For anyone in STEM, I highly recommend him. He cares about his students. His grading is forgiving and his tests are straight forward.

There are great math teachers and then there's just math teachers. Zhang is just a run of the mill math teacher! He's a sharp guy but his teaching skills are horrendous due to how he sails through evrything so fast. I'm not that great at math and he was a bit condescending to me and others having difficulty in his class. I do not recommend him!

I took Zhang for both Calculus 1 and 2, and would recommend him to anyone. His weekly quizzes really help cement knowledge of the material, or tell you if you're falling behind. He also drops, like, 6 of them a semester, so even if you mess up on a couple you don't have to worry.

Amazing teacher, if you show up to class and do your homework you will get an A in this class. Very personable in his office and will do everything he can to help you. Tests were easy. His lectures were interesting because he gave real life examples. He is also very humorous ! He is very invested in his students success.

This guy is really amazing had him for calc II and now for cal III and wish i had h im for cal I, he makes math has sense he teachs you jot because your final but because he wants you to see how math works and the best is he shows u why u need this in ur life. Hes tests and quizes are from the same homwork he gives had an A with him!! Best Dr ever

If you're a math, science or engineering major then Zhang is probably your man. If you're not so hot at math (like me) and just looking to satisfy your math req. you might want to take someone else. Zhang is very smart and helpful but his teaching skills suck! He flies through the material at blistering speed. I'm stumped as to how I got a C!

Personally speaking, he is the best teacher to take for Calculus at South Alabama. He spells it out for you in class step by step, you practice it in your homework, and then you perform it on the test. Key is to go to class and do your homework.

Had him for Cal 2. Goes way too fast when teaching and expects you to remember/know everything from the past. Unforgiving on mistakes. A small mistake will cost you half of the total points possible on a question on a test/quiz. >>Often runs over actual class time!<< I do not recommend taking him, especially if you want an A or B.

Calc II - Lots of homework and you must do all your homework. Follow his instruction and do your home work and you will do well. Tests are based on homework and he wants you to succeed. Best professor for Calculus. If you are lazy do not take this instructor. Do not waste his time.

Extremely good, but hard. You have to have a interest in math and do your homework. I'm one of the few students that had the honor to take him for all of Cal and made A's. He reviews the harder material, sometimes redo lectures with other ex. If you are taking him as a gen req don't do it, if you need a strong foundation without a double take him.

He's really geared towards the "stronger" students in the class. He'll answer any questions you have and his quizzes are straight from the homework. Furthermore, the tests are pretty much straight from class notes, quizzes, and homework. He's a great teacher if you put in the same effort as he does.

Zhang seemed to be the most popular among the students (I was told) seeking a math prof so I decided to give him a try. Bad idea! I studied like mad and ended up luckily with a C+. He's decent but his tests are hard as hell!! Normally I'm pretty good in math but this man is way too fast and incomprehensible for me! I don't recommend Zhang!

Dr. Zhang was an awsome professor. Took him for Cal. 2 this summer and I learned soooo much. Many people complain about him, but if you do your homework when it is assigned and without delay, you will make an A. His tests and quizzes are directly based on homework. Take him, Take him, Take him!!
