Hes has a accent but you understand him pretty well. He wants you to know current events at the beginning of class and would call out on some students. His lectures are PowerPoint from chapters but it sometimes hard to understand his teaching method. At least his exams were take home and some exams had you answer questions in class but he curves.

He preaches way too much and he has a tendency to pick on the uninterested kids to answer questions a lot. However, if you want an easy A all his exams are take home and a 90 average by the final gets you exempt. Otherwise, he's not the best teacher to have if you REALY want to learn economics.

Professor is extremely distracted and gets off topic during his lectures constantly. He will randomly call on students to see if they are paying attention. If he catches you on your phone or just not paying attention he will stop everything to make a mockery of you in front of the entire class. Be careful...

Know your current events (especially Business & Economics) and prepare to discuss in class. He WILL call on you, he doesn't miss anyone. Those that sit in the back and hide in corners are the ones he picks on the most. Just participate and do your current events article & your final paper (20 pg - not as hard as you think) and you should get an A

In Professor Gebremariam's class he has a strict no phone and no absence policy. You're allowed to miss one class as long as you communicate that with him. He is very charismatic and passionate about what he does even if he is pretty sarcastic. He only gave my class three grades , which were all tests, but were all take home.

His lectures were awful. Most of the time he went off topic and imposed his political views on the class almost every single class, which I believe is extremely inappropriate. Gave a powerpoint assignment and never had us present or hand in for credit, waste of time. He never stays on topic, take someone else if you want to learn.

Lectures are EXTREMELY dry & I learned very little from them. If the test weren't take home and essay questions weren't given ahead of time I would have failed all of them. Curves alot, ended up getting a good grade but not learning much- which is upsetting cause I was very interested in topic

Easily my favorite professor I've had at Southern so far. Will he cram his power points down your throat and make you "regurgitate" them, as another student pointed out? Yep, but he'll also foster class discussions before he gets into the lecture to get your gears turning and very much cares about his students learning. 4/5 will take another class!

This class was pretty fair. I only took it as a tier requirement and I didn't care for the class. All his test were take home except for one of them. His lectures were boring but it's pretty easy if you have the book which I got on amazon for $20.

Another mediocre professor who thinks he's God. Imposes his political views on his class like the drone that he is. Here's a powerpoint, I'll read it to you, regurgitate it on the exams. That's this guy in a nutshell. He gives so few assignments that doing poor on any will screw you. Avoid at all costs. This guy is the definition of a failure.

Easy class. As long as you show up and do your work you will be fine even with minimal effort. All answers are in the book. He likes to randomly pick on students, so if you have social anxiety or tend to not pay attention I wouldn't take him.

Took him in the Fall 2016 semester. I knew nothing about economics (still don't) but I passed. Easy professor. On his syllabus, If you skip like 3 classes your grade will be in the C's. But if you get to know him, do great on the exams (I maintained a 90; take home) and email him about your wherebouts he wont penalize you (I skipped 4-6 classes).

Only graded us on three take home tests (answers in book) this whole semester; however, he did take points off for skipping class so make sure you attend! no homework given at all which was amazing. he has a very dry sense of humor and dry lecture style (reads off powerpoints), but all the slides are online so you dont have to take notes

This was a class I was nervous about taking because I know nothing about econ. He grades very easily, curves a lot, most of the exams were take home, only one quiz in class. If you want an easy A, take him, but if you actually are business/ econ major and have to really know this stuff, I would not recommend.

He is a sweet guy who has a lot of knowledge on the subject. However, he doesn't go about teaching it the right way. Mostly he'll just skip through powerpoints and stay on one topic completely unrelated to the material & call on random people to answer his dumb questions. All exams except for 1 are take home, look up the answers & you'll be fine!

Dr. Gebremariam is proud. You will hear his success story many times. However, his classes are an easy A. Probably 3 tests, all very easy. He tells you exactly what they will cover. Gives take home final. He will not read a word of your 20 page paper, but will make structural corrections. Appear interested. Humor him. Come to class. Get an A.

So I am looking over the take home mid term and can't find half the questions. This is an intro course not a 400 level course. This has nothing to do with my major and I wish I hadn't taken this class. For this to be a PhD professor of 25 years his style is awful. Avoid this class and professor at all costs.

Very good professor. He keeps class interesting with conversations surrounding current real world issues. Exams aren't too bad at all.
