Comment:

One of the worst professors I have ever had, I am a Psych Major at Hofstra and I would 100% recommend that you choose another class/course!! This class isn't worth it!!! Basically, teaches what he writes on his power points and if you dont listen to even one of his examples, you fail the tests! Tests are extremely hard, questions are like SAT/ACT!!

Subject material of this class is very interesting but the tests are hard. Write down each and every example he gives in class for each theory. They will all show up on the exam. Also, reading the textbook is necessary to getting a good grade on the exams, combined with notes. Take notes when reading the text and know examples of theories in text

Comment:

Johnson was a really nice professor and going to his class was never a struggle. The only struggle was his tests. They're very specific and some questions ask things that seem either not important or not ever mentioned. Overall, nice man but I would choose a different professor for this course.

I was a great student overall at Hofstra and went onto Columbia Graduate school following for a Masters----Coming back on here just to warn you all that this class is extremely difficult and if you can take it with another professor or rather take another psych elective, please do so. His exams are really tough, and very hard to get an A.

He is a really cool dude and makes class interesting but he's really tough on grading and his tests are hard unless you know everything inside and out. He uses the text book a lot for tests. Homework assignments are pretty easy but he grades very tough. He's a great guy but I wouldn't take his class again

Totally uninteresting and not helpful in the least. The class was a 3 hour waste of time, because all you did was discuss past research which you had to already have read for homework. Also gives tests that are surprisingly hard because he does not prepare you for them. Hard class because the is no help from the prof. Just read and get an A.

Professor Johnson is really great. He's funny, smart and really knows his stuff. I loved this class, it was really interesting and I learned so much. Just make sure you go over the textbook before tests because he includes case studies from the book that he doesn't talk about in class. I found tests to be pretty easy.

Great teacher. Clear lecture presentations, pay attention to the examples he uses in class, they'll be on the test. I came to class, studied for the tests, skimmed the chapters the night before and I got an A in this class. I'm taking him for 198 now because I enjoyed 159 so much. Those who didn't are looney.

nice guy but A bit of a titeass lol.Refuses to take anything students say into consideration.He goes out of his way to screw you on the tests.There are some Q's that you cant get right even if you know all the concepts inside and out.Class average is 30/50 so he gives a HUGE curve.Will keep you after class 5 mins EVERY DAY.hw is easy tho.overall ok

I think he is a great professor who is very helpful and makes sure you learn the material. He does talk alot, but he prepared me for grad school because his class is the most like it and you need all that information if you want to do well. At least he has interesting things to say during the 3 hours. Writing research papers is a snap for me now.

OMG sooo boring it's unreal. I got an A- in the class, but I honestly don't know how I stayed awake. Literally the most boring man alive and he's obsessed with comic strip cartoons. Not a difficult teacher, but be prepared to sleep through lecture a lot! READ THE BOOK!!!
