Comment:
Dr. Yang does not teach his students. You are required to watch "lecture videos" that are not helpful to most students. He is hard to understand and is not helpful. In class you take quizzes on the lecture videos, but if you do not understand the lecture content you are SOL. This was the most difficult course I have ever taken because of him.

Dr. Frank is very passionate about the class. He makes videos to explain the answers for all of the questions on the practice exams which are almost identical to the actual exams. Attendance is a huge part of the class and clicker questions from that day count as attendance points. He is very helpful outside of class as well.

Dr. Yang was AMAZING! I really enjoyed the course. He's super kind and funny. If you can understand the practice exams he gives then you will be set for the tests! This really is an easy course. Most people did not like Dr. Yang but those were the students who did not even try or put in any effort. I would highly recommend taking him for chem 1150!

To succeed in Dr. Yang's class, you should sit up front, do all of the homework on time, go to the tutoring center, ask questions and practice outside of class. This class is doable if you put in the work necessary. Dr. Yang can be pretty hard to understand, but if you actually pay attention, it makes it easier to know what he's saying.

This was the worst professor EVER. He did not care a single bit about his students, regardless of what these comments say. I was a 4.0 student, but got a C+ in this mans class. Horrible is an understatement. Did nothing to help us.

CHEM 1150 is generally known to be hard and Yu will give a lot of resources on Blackboard and powerpoints which I used to pass the class. But, his WebAssign homework is due the day after a lecture and not all at once which means you have to be on top of homework. Also his accent is somewhat strong which hindered my ability to understand the content

Dr. Yang tries his best to help his students understand. Although he has an accent barrier, he does care for his students and wants to ensure that his students understand the material. He is hilarious, but he would be my second option if you want to take Chem 1150.

I can't wait to get out of his class when this semester ends. His slides aren't even his, and the material he goes over in class is ridiculously basic compared to the homework he gives. Not to mention, the homework assignments are due like every other day or so, so you're constantly having to teach yourself Chemistry ON TOP of all the other courses

Omg...boring...reads straight off slides...tests are ridiculously hard and some stuff doesn't come from the class.when u take the state finals...almost half of the stuff he taught on class isn't even on there...the hw on mastering Chem is even harder! He doesn't only give a clicker quiz everyday but maybe two-three a day...so if u get it wrong..SOL

I actually think he's a very good teacher. The subject is hard but other than that he teaches very well. I didn't feel that his accent was a barrier at all, he was very clear when teaching. I would definitely recommend him.
