Kauls trading course is the best finance course I've taken at the university. He is very passionate about this subject and also gives you great life advice. I would recommend him as an professor in a heart beat.

Comment:

Kaul is one of the best finance professors I have had at the university. He is very approachable, and loves to help you. His tests are long answer, but marks are given generously. Wouldn't think twice about taking his course again.

Comment:

Easily one of the best finance profs at the UofA. I highly recommend taking his classes. His tests are hard but fair. If you go to class you will do fine! He's a super nice guy and genuinely a great great prof. I highly recommend him. Very caring and smart.

Comment:

Interesting topics. I often don't learn well in lectures and this prof has extremely sloppy slides so that screwed me hard in this class. Exams are 4 questions where he sometimes wants 1-4 sentence answers I accidentally did a x-y instead of y-x in a q and he took 50% off which is like 20% off exam LOL? Exams are a mess & a gamble so I'd avoid!

This guy is a beauty, and probably the most knowledgeable prof I have had at the U of A. Classes are very interesting, engages students with questions, and appreciates class participation. Gives good examples to explain complex topics. Exam questions are a little open ended so know your stuff. And do not use your phone in class. He hates it

brilliant professor. Not a typical finance course as your grade is determined largely from your conceptual understanding of material. First part of class (up to midterm) can be overwhelming with alot of material, second part was a little bit less intense. His intelligence and ability to answer literally any finance related questions amazed me.

I loved this class. He's hilariously blunt about some things. If you decide to attend lectures (optional-he really doesn't care), he'll make you think and answer questions. After half a dozen classes I approached him with extra questions and he answered them really thoughtfully and kindly.

I loved his class. You need to be there everyday and make good notes, but he explains things in interesting ways. A true professor. He doesn't just dump the textbook on you. A super interesting guy too. Underneath his goofy personality he is a genius.

Having all but 6 weeks of class left to complete my degree, I can easily say that Dr. Kaul is one of, if not the very best finance profs UofA has to offer. If you can take his class, do it! Lectures are engaging; lots of opportunity to participate and figure concepts out together in a dialogue style format. Hands down 100% for him.

Funny and easy class. Good professor. The parities are the major part of the class so put your time on them. The rest is pretty much common sense and logic. A mix of macro-economics and basic finance theories and how to apply those on the FX-market. Easy exams. Just do the old ones he puts up and you will be fine.

Really enjoyed class with him. Extremely patient and helpful. Goes through material slowly and concisely and always stops to make sure everyone is following along. Appreciates class participation, but it's not required. Powerpoint slides are solid, save your textbook money. (Also, leave your cell phone at home...it's a serious pet peeve of his)

Dr. Kaul is all class, a stellar professor. I'm blessed to have taken 442 with him. He is very clear about what needs to be learnt and thrives on class participation. If you just want a GPA boost, go somewhere else, you'll have to earn your grade with him. He hates when people talk in his class so dont come if you plan to talk. Hes an A+ in my book

AMAZING!!! he is the best finance prof that the SOB has...he is so clear on what he is teaching - and will go over it until everyone understands. his exams are beyond fair...just do the practice ones that he posts and you'll be golden! DEFINITELY TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!
