Professor Sharp was great! Kind and amazing with her words. There's 5 papers but she helps you prep a LOT and gives you a lot of time to work on things. The grammar lessons help with your writing and she'll let you fix little errors in your essays for more points.

Prof Sharp is a fantastic English professor and I would recommend taking her class if you're looking for a supportive teacher who gives LOTS of feedback on papers. She requires 3 essays, plus one in-class essay and a research paper. She encourages students to ask questions and swing by her office hours, and is always extremely welcoming and kind!

She follows the syllabus very well there are no surprises. She walks you through each of the papers even the research paper by writing your opening paragraphs and giving you benchmarks+time in class for the research paper. You don't really need the grammar book, she lends students her three copies in classed she writes everything on the board.

Easy essays that she pretty much outlines for you. 1 final research paper, 1 in-class essay, and 3 normal essays. Attend workshops(peer-review essays for an hour on a certain day). Will need to borrow/buy several books. Watched 2 movies and 1 play. She's super enthusiastic and great at writing. Easy exams test if you read the stories. Take her!

She's great. Easy grader. She selects good books for you to read & write your essays on. I hate public speaking so I was worried when I found out there are 2 Socratic Seminars, but when the time came to do them I talked a bunch both times. She creates a very comfortable environment that makes you not afraid to share your insight!

This woman was the best professor I had at el Co and I was there for 3 years. She is the most intellectual person. I had the pleasure of being a student in her class. Her choice of writings that she teaches you, stick with you. And was always interested in what she had to bring with that author of a mind. Thank you sharp. You tightened my Repertoir

Fantastic teacher. Clear about what she want from your essays. Worth taking her.. She is always is willing to help you. There are 5 essays and 1 in class essay. All essays have workshop days where you go in and one person has to read out their rough draft. Helps out a lot. In class discussions. TALK. Don't worry about what people think!! :)

I really enjoyed this class. Everything written on the syllabus is true. The class had a simple set up: announced reading quizzes, class exercises, short story, and the workshops. All of the excercises were fun to do. I would definitely take this class again with Sharp.

Great professor. She does an amazing job of outlining everything you need to do, in order to write the papers that she assigns. She is very helpful if you visit her during her office hours. It is easy to do well in her class if you simply follow her instructions and take notes/participate in class.

Great writer and respected literature professional, but NOT a good instructor. There isn't any space for the student to express their ideas in their own terms on the writing assignments. She wants every single student to write in the way she wants. Getting a good grade is also a very very challenging task. Bad instructor for expressive free writers

wonderful teacher she tells you in the beginning of the semester if she likes you she will help you reach your full potential as a writer and it is definately true, she is tough on essays but thats only because she is a writer herself and knows anyone can be one as long as you right your wrongs

She has probably the best notes! She writes clearly & you don't get lost in her lectures. She is one of the top professors I have ever taken at this school. She cares about the work you do and wants to help you make it the best it can be by giving you new ideas for your story and asking you questions that make you think of new ideas. Take her class

Yes there are 5 essays but she prepares you so that you are not intimidated. Highly recommend her and sad that she does not teach 1C.

Professor Sharp is amazing! She assigns 5 essays, one is an in-class essay and the last one is a research paper. She has workshops for each of the essays, one person is chosen to present the essay. Everyone critiques it in a friendly environment, and you get to take the essay home to assist you with your own essay. Overall a brilliant educator!

Amazing instructor! Very organized; great lectures; homework and in class assignments were pretty straightforward. Also, she gives great feedback on written assignment. English was not my strongest subject, however after taking English A with Prof. Sharp, I now have confidences that I will do very well in English 1A

Mrs. Sharp is a great teacher. Not an easy A, but it's not difficult either. She assigned 5 essays in total, one of which was an in class essay. She gives GREAT feedback for your essays and because of her, I got an A in English 1C. If you're willing to learn and put in the work, take her! It may be stressful sometimes, but in the end, it's worth it

I had fun in the creative writing class (took it Fall 2014) this teacher knows her stuff! No need for a textbook! You do write your own story 12-24 pages long. The only thing I disliked was how when students pick apart your story flaws, you can only focus on the negative. She likes depressing topics for some reason!
