This class was super interesting! We had reading to do every night and papers throughout the semester, but nothing was super hard. The class is discussion-based and Alan truly cares about what everyone in the class has to say. I highly recommend him as a professor and a person, and I'm pretty sure everyone in the class got an A.

If you have a chance to take a class with Alan, DO IT! I've been waiting to take this class since I was a Freshman and it was one of my favorite classes that I've ever taken at BW. Such a caring man with great insight both in religious context as well as real-world experiences.

Alan is an awesome professor. I had him for a leadership development class for athletics. He really pushed us to learn to create the group discussions willingly, instead of having him talk the whole time. The class was an ongoing interactive discussion in which everyone gave helpful advice and their input to leadership qualities. Great professor.

Alan is not only a great professor but a great person. He is full of wisdom and joy always willing to share. His class was such a great change of pace and you want to do the work because it's improving your own life. One of my favorite classes ever at BW. Highly recommend, only downside is final 10 pg paper, but it's all your learning/opinions.

Highly intellectual professor, as suspected from a Harvard graduate. There were reading assignments due every class that weren't painstaking. Take the class if you enjoy reflective journaling. Be prepared to participate in class discussions and express your opinions openly. Great course, I learned more than suspected about myself and theology.

Professor Kolp has to be one of the most impressive individuals that I have encountered in my life thus far. Although there are several papers to write, they are based on your belief and thought process. The books are easy to read, entertaining and enlightening. I would take this class again if I could. I recommend taking any of his classes. Great!

I thoroughly enjoyed having class with Alan Kolp. He's a really great person -- very knowledgable and always willing to help. Plan to do a lot of reading and writing papers (we did 7), but it's definitely worth it. You truly learn a lot about yourself and your beliefs. I will always see this class as invaluable in my journey of faith.

One of the most amazing people at BW he teaches about discovering yourself. He's incredible and although i wont be able to take another class of his while I'm at BW I would just like to say thanks, and that he was one of the top 3 profs I have ever had, and hes an even better man

Christian Faith & Thought is an excellent class that everyone should take. It's more about self-discovery than anything else, and Dr. Kolp is an excellent professor who regards his students more as friends than anything else. He's funny, kind, and helpful when it comes to student questions. A definite must-take!
