After the first month of classes, it becomes quite evident that lectures are virtually useless. Go to lecture once in a while, read his slides, skim the book before exams, articulate your thesis and arguments well, and you will do fine. However, if you have weak essay writing skills to begin with, expect to struggle for even a B.

Professor Salazar is an interesting professor. He certainly is passionate about the lecture material and he seemed to demonstrate a high level of awareness as to the current debates relevant to the course. I would recommend Salazar; however, I wish to caution prospective students that it's your T.A. who really determines your success. I had Azeem.

WOW, his accent! He has sex appeal for SURE. I loved going to his classes. It was supposed to be two hours long but he never kept us past an hour.. i wish he would! I could listen to him talk all day hes so gorgeous :) and intelligent!

WOW his lectures are super boring. It is a 9 credit course and I stopped caring after Novemeber, never went to any lectures after that. You just need a decent TA for this course and you will do good. I am so gald it is only 3 more weeks and I am done with this course. Turbo boring course but mostly it is because the professor made it boring!

Hard to understand, sometimes comes up with something good, but it is never realized in class, you have to think about it really hard after class. He's not very convincing, You'll usually feel like arguing against him. That might be good, but often he doesn't make sense

Once you get past the accent and the layout of the class, you will notice how smart he is. The class hated having to do a rough draft and present at 1st, but his feedback makes it SUPER EASY to do well on your final draft. He cold calls students to particpate so PAY ATTENTION. Presenting/Responding is dumb but throw a good comment in and your set.

Amazing prof and really helpful. Have to go to class, keep up with the material and do all the essay prep. Makes you do an outline, present a rough draft and then do a final..in the end you get a good mark though. Best 4040 prof!

very interesting prof. makes seminars interesting. Actually allows class to have their imput into discussions, and doesn't just ramble on like others do. Too much presentation of papers tho. Other than that, would recommend him.

He made the participation mark in tutorial contingent on doing an oral presentation (or at least thats what I was told after the fact). He then proceeded to not have enough tutorials for all students to do a presentation - as he missed several tutorials. If you have him, corner him, and make him make his expectations crystal clear - in writing.
