The class format was 2 papers, one (easy) quiz, and participation. The papers were long but he gave good feedback on them and walked you through what he expected for each. Class was interesting. However, it is a LOT of time outside of class. Expect to go in a few times a week and weekends, and have to schedule with your group.

2 papers, but provided lots of good feedback for revisions on drafts so its easy to do well. the course is scheduled as a 2 hour block, but that's really only the lecture component of the class. lots of outside class time, including weekends, where you need to come into lab. etan presents material in a very engaging way and overall a solid class

great professor who seems to genuinely care about his students. always gives 100% in class. also has funny jokes. he may be tough sometimes, but he means well. hand outs are super helpful and so are clicker questions which appear on tests. take good notes and you'll be fine

He was extremely helpful during this class. There are two long papers but they are definitely doable. He gives you step by step on how to structure them and what he wants for each paper. You are basically doing two experiments and writing about them. Time consuming class (had to come in for labs) but worth it. No tests, just one small quiz.

One of the more difficult psych classes Ive taken, but its doable. He does review the topics briefly every class which helps if you miss notes. Clicker questions repeat on exams so the multi choice is pretty easy. He demands a lot of detail on essay exam questions so make sure you know your stuff

Toughest class in PSYC department. He requires you to come to class to do (and get correct) clicker questions because they count as quiz grades. Gives out note hand outs each class, but they are outlines so you have to put the info on it. Tough exams. Gives out 20 possible final questions that he picks some from. Need book. Overall, difficult class

He can be rigid at times, but isn't completely unreasonable. BUT if you plan on skipping class you should take another professor. Does clicker questions each class to boost grade& ensure you're there for the material b/c it's difficult. If you skip, you will fall behind. Tests are HARD, but no surprises. Gives out the final essay ?'s beforehand.

This is a hard class, you will have to attend and pay attention, but Professor Markus did a fantastic job teaching. The tests were difficult unless you studied well for them, otherwise they were fairly straightforward. Goes over and hammers home the main points of each topic. He's got a bit of a quirky sense of humor that can be weird but funny.

One of the hardest classes I have ever taken, as well as the hardest final (19 potential essay choices, he picks 7 of them). Do not take this class unless needed--Markus is a very smart, likeable guy but his notes are awful. All exams are unnecessarily hard. He's very helpful at clarifying most things, but not as much for more difficult topics.

Professor Markus is a great guy. Going into this class you will be fully aware that it is difficult. However, Etan does his absolute best to make each student understand and succeed. He hands out outlined notes for every class which are vital for the exams. He reviews the previous class at the start of every class. Overall great class glad i tookit

Will tell you on the first day that this class is really hard and he makes the exams hard on purpose. Final is cumulative. Clicker questions every day so attendance is mandatory. Repeats information from the class before which is helpful and tries his best to cut to the point. Class is difficult. Study really hard for exams and read the book.

Professor Markus tries as hard as he can to make his students understand the material: cuts through the useless information and gets to the point, provides outlines to each class with spaces to fill in with information given during lecture, challenges students by engaging them, repeats information CONSTANTLY, and encourages questions.

This class is the worst class ever. I'd rather be in my organic chemistry or physiology and neurobiology class! The material is soooo extremely boring and the professor jumps all over the place. I dread the class. I dread reading the book. I dread studying. The class makes me angry for being such a waste of time. Can't wait for it to be OVER!!!!!!

I absolutely loved this class. Etan is a great professor who makes things as easy to understand as possible. He reviews everything to make sure you have a clear understanding of it. It isn't a class you can skip but I actually enjoyed going to it. It was interesting. He's super nice and his tests are fair. Study and you'll do well.
