Comment:

She is a nice professor but she is not very clear with her expectations. I took her hybrid class and if you have never taken Spanish before beware, she doesn't explain a whole lot and the lectures are pointless. I basically just made quizlets of EVERYTHING and study them the day before the test so I could memorize it. Her final exam is cumulative.

I liked her, as long as you actually do the work you'll be fine. She doesn't grade or explain things very clearly, so if you struggle I'd recommend seeking outside help.

Comment:

I can tell Vonlehe knows what shes talking about, but doesnt do the best job at explaining it to the class. Learned more from the online textbook than her lectures. I got screwed over because she said a quiz would get dropped, and then decided last minute that she wasnt going to do so, which is what hurt my grade the most.

Comment:

Bad. She will assign over 30 hours worth of homework, which is ok if you actually learned new material in class instead of watching videos. I learned more from an animation cartoon on VHL then I did sitting down in her class for two days a week for 2 hours each. Would not take again, you are warned.

Comment:

Her class is pretty easy if you have any basis in Spanish and still pretty easy if you don't as long as you remember to do the work. She's an okay teacher but often rarely or poorly corrects students on their horrible mispronunciations. The class is an easy pass as long as you put in a good amount of effort.

She definitely knows what she's talking about because Spanish is her first language, but a lot of times she expects us to know what she's talking about, its a Spanish 1 class, we don't know anything and thats kinda the point. Attendance is part of your grade. I will not be taking Spanish 2. (I don't need it to graduate).

Profe Vonlehe is a nice woman who truly seems to care about her students and their understanding of the class. Her class has helped me understand Spanish much better than any other classes have. Overall, a fair grader and an engaging teacher.

The class time is spent going over a lesson and doing the activity packet for that lesson. Since she's a native speaker she is very informative on what not to do and how to properly speak or what you may in counter talking to people from different parts. All homework is online and the quizzes are mostly in class unless there is not enough time.

Such a sweet lady! I feel like Profé Vonlehe gets a bad rep due to the difficulty of this class, however I have been told it is just as difficult with other professors. She is so nice and kind and truly does care for each of her students. Would definitely recommend!

Professor Vonlehe was an amazing spanish professor. I feel that she made this class pretty easy. She gives lots of quizzes but on the material from her worksheets and the exams arent too bad as long as you know what your doing.

This is the only traditional class for Spanish offered. I highly do not recommend this teacher. She assigns online work, you can finish it all and she will randomly add more due the same day without any notification and then you get points off. Very inconsistent, can never answer questions clearly. This class is not worth the stress.

This professor wasted our time showing us barely/non- related music videos and had us do coloring packets for a grade in class... Meanwhile she blazed through the last chapter which was the majority of the final... Maybe she actually use the class time given?? Put lots of online HW. Check it often. She will not tell you or leave them open for long.

GREAT PROFESSOR. I'm upset I missed the deadline to rate her through Santa Fe's official rating. She posted the grades very quick, really explained things so her students understood. I came into sp2 learning nothing from sp1 and I cannot express how much of a better teacher she was than my sp1 teacher. Friendly prof and cares for students.

She does not enter grades consistently throughout the course. In fact, it's difficult to even know what you will be graded on and how (like how many quizzes/vocab tests/how online work is graded). She's sweet, but not organized well enough for me. She gave us a lot of work sheets but they didn't cover all we needed to know.

I really enjoyed taking Spanish I with Professor Von Lehe. She's a good professor and really cares about what she does. Very sweet, and adorable lady! I will say though, if you are one of the unfortunate people who've never taken Spanish before in their life like me, be prepared to study hard. As long as you study the material, you will do fine!!

Comment:

This class was very easy. The tests are a little harder than Spanish 1 but I'm an engineering major who is terrible at these sorts of things so if I can do it shouldn't be hard. I hear people complain about her accent but I never had a problem understanding her. She was a great teacher very patient with all my dumb questions. I would recommend her.

She works with the speed of the calss overall. I did it over the summer, so I don't know what she is like in full semesters, but she could have loaded us with a lot more homework , but she didn't. She pushed back quizzes and exams. She let us out early instead of using up the time with useless things. Overall great professor.
