Comment:
Homework optional, but highly recommend. Start studying early. Will not curve tests, but curves final grade at the end of the semester. EXTREMELY quiet speaker, if in a lecture hall sit close. Be prepared to either teach yourself or go to tutoring. Book is online access unless you opt out. Confusing explanations and only works examples in class

Szulga doesnt really explain the material. She works problem after problem on the board and assumes that the students know how to solve them. Would not recommend unless you plan on teaching yourself calculus.

Szulga is a very nice lady and teacher, but she cannot teach the content effectively. There is a lot of assumption and not a lot of explanation. She'll try to answer questions, but it is still hard to understand. Outside studying and learning is a must to do well. She really tries, but she ends up sacrificing quality for quantity.

She moves extremely fast so skipping class will mean that you probably won't know how to do certain problems. Your grade is only dependent on four tests with no drop test or anything so you need to make sure you do good on these tests, she gives you a study guide for each test and the test is usually very similar to that so know everything on it.

This lady is precious, but thats about it. She doesnt teach, she just writes down problems on the board. Cal 1 should not have been this difficult, when I made a 5 on the AP exam. She also told me she would scale me and did not, despite doing all the homework and going to class every day.

Professor sucks at teaching. Gives stupid hard tests that are way harder than the practice exams. Does have 2 extra credit ?s on each exam and will give bonus quizzes if the class requests. Curves like crazy at the end depending on attendance and homework. I had a C and ended up with an A.

Taking a math class with Dr. Szulga is a terrible idea. She is nice, but very, very difficult. Tests are very challenging and each out of 19 points, graded harshly. Final is out of 24. Whole class is out of 100. Although she does curve, it is very difficult to get a good grade. Worst math professor I have had a AU, Cal 3 should not be this hard.

Extremely thick polish accent, and tests are much harder than the practice tests she gives you. If you like your GPA or don't want a class you have to study much for, do not take this class! If you like suffering with very little instruction, this one is for you!

Dr. Szulga is a nice professor, although she seems tough at first. Once you get used to her accent, lectures are fine, but she is sometimes unclear when answering questions or explaining concepts. Homework is not graded but highly recommended. At the end, she will raise your final grade based on attendance and homework completion.

She moves really fast so if you are not paying attention in class you will not know whats going on. Grade is based completely off test and you can get exempt from the final. Her tests are almost exactly like the practice tests she gives you, so just go over those and you will do fine.

One of the most important things in this class is to do the homework. It helps you prepare for tests and she often gives you extra credit if you work it. Asks questions when you need to and make sure to work and study practice tests, and go to class when she works them out. If you do that, her tests are definitely doable. She's very understanding.

I have basically been teaching cal 3 to myself. Studied 40+ hours for the first exam and still made a 60. Tests are 4-5 questions, so if you miss one, it really hurts your grade. Avoid this one if you can.

Hard class, fast-paced, works out problems, not much theory. Thick Polish accent, you get used to it. Go to class, do the homework, its what she bases her curve on. I was barely passing when I took the final and ended with a C. Webassign is required for hw, includes your textbook online. She's pretty nice, wants to see that you tried. Still hard.

Lecture mostly consists of working through example problems from the book. Not a ton of theory. Might require a little reading. Tests are not too bad if you work through the practice exam beforehand. Homework and attendance not mandatory, but she uses them to scale at the end of the semester. Very sweet and helpful lady. Dr. S is great.

Doesn't take attendance for a grade, but she takes it and uses it to scale, so GO TO LECTURE. She also doesn't grade homework, but assigns it and check to see if you tried. She has a thick accent but you get used to it. She's very sweet and teaches well, but tests are hard. She gives a practice test before each exam. 4 exams and a final.

She's a very fair grader and tries to give you as much extra credit as possible. I really enjoy her lectures. She assigns occasional homework but she rarely takes it up and just to see who has done it. My only issue is that the class only has 5 grades, the tests and final.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL I love math but she makes the class insanely difficult the questions she assigns are so difficult my tutor couldnt figure them out and the ones on the test are just as hard if not harder, you have to go to class she takes attendance every single day, lectures are terrible she doesnt work out problems to completion

Her accent is terrible but if you can get past that (I couldn't really) you should be fine. Do the homework she gives and she will remember at the end of the semester. Also, do the practice tests, they help a lot. Don't worry too much if you aren't doing very well because she helps out a lot at the end. I don't know anyone that has actually failed.
