This teacher by far is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He will bend over backwards to help you and make sure you succeed. He truly cares. He will tutor you. Answer all of your questions. He really is amazing.

I pick all my teachers from here. Professor Wakim was the best one so far. He is very pro when it comes to assisting a student to understand and get the best grade. He even walks you through midterm and final, with the same questions you will eventually be proctored on. If you get anything lower than an A then your just lazy.

I took this professor online and he was terrible. He use MyMathLab and basically left you to teach yourself. I have been a math lover and have gotten nothing but A grades in my previous math classes. The main problem I have with him is the fact that he did not teach the class, he expected you to teach yourself.

Good prof who sends lots of emails. Can sound rude in them but really isn't. Is VERY helpful if you ask questions about anything. You get test corrections for the proctored test which helps grades. Would recommend Prof. Wakim for pre-calc with trig

A great trigonometry teacher. I had an awful one before this, so I decided to take trig online and it was the best decision of my life! The class is easy, and everything is repeatable so you won't have a choice but to reinforce it in your head. There is tons of extra credit to be had (You can submit two mistake fixes per test, giving you +10% on it

I loved my class with Mr. Wakim I took college algebra online. you will have 3 assignments, one quiz , and one dissociation every week and three tests. Some people will think it's too much but that will help to keep the student on track.

DO NOT take this class online. It was the toughest classes I have taken at EFSC. This class is test heavy. The 3 proctored test are worth 45% of your grade and the final exam is cumulative and worth 20% of your grade. There is a lot of HW each week. be ready to work.

Doing Coll Alg online was extremely difficult for me, especially with 4 proctored tests and your final is proctored. But, Wakim gives you the opportunity to correct two questions from each texts and gives you a significant amount of points back for that. The way everything is weighted also helps alot. hes an amazing teacher who wants you to do well

Although this was an online class, this professor is very involved. He genuinely wants to help you learn difficult topics and wants you to succeed. VERY good at responding to emails, no matter what day or time. Keep in mind, the online coursework is extremely time consuming and requires a lot of daily dedication in order to complete it on time.

I dont recommend taking an online trig class unless you're ready for hours of studying, or go to a math tutor. I liked Joseph Wakim as a professor though, he answered emails quickly and gave partial credit on some questions if you asked. He also lets you correct two test mistakes. His grading system was harsh though (4 tests50%, hw10%)study hard!

I basically taught myself, but that seems normal for online math. 4 tests & a final; all proctored but 1. Only a calc & paper allowed. He lets you make up 2 pts per test by correcting a mistake made. USE THE "STUDY PLAN" in mymathlab (where everything was done). Do not let yourself fall behind; I did & it was tough to catch up, but used study plan.

If you take this online you'll need to teach yourself & devote a lot of time to studying. Prof Wakim is there to help if you need it. You do everything through mymathlab. There's 4 tests, one is take-home, & 4 discussion board "test" questions. You can use textbook during test and make up 2 missed questions on every test.

Prof. Wakim is a very kind individual. He is always pleasant. This was his first time teaching a face-to-face class and he did very well! There was a lot of homework and MyMathLab is required. Use the textbook to study, too, as there are heavily-weighted tests.

I took Professor Wakim for 2 online Math classes. He was very helpful and always answered questions in a way that you could understand. All of the work was done in MathLab and there were 4 Proctored Tests a semester. All of the tests are based on the practice tests he has you take for quiz grades. He also offered extra credit on tests.

Great professor, and always there to help. I've always struggled with math, especially tests, and instructor Wakim is always there to offer advice and help. He has the class set up so that discussions are a must, you need decent test grades to pass, but keeping up with your homework can help maintain a decent class average.

-Tests make up most of the overall grade, and they are similar to the homework assignments and quizzes. -He is very responsive to inquiries. -About three or four tests (I can't remember) and a comprehensive final exam. One test is taken at home, while the rest are taken at the school.

The majority of your grade will come from three tests and a comprehensive final exam. You will pass if you work hard on his practice tests, as they are similar to the proctored tests. Also, before every test, there is a discussion board assignment during test week. You will have to submit a tough math question and respond to two posts.

Comment:

Mr. Wakim is very helpful and gives you a lot of chances to make up missed points. The only downside is the program we used to learn was very buggy making doing work frustrating sometimes. I was pleasantly surprised by this class since I've never been an online class person. If you are bad at math this is the class to take to help you understand.

It's an online advanced math class, of course it was a bit tough. The only complaints I have are with the Pearson MyMathLab site, and they are very minor. I had very little interaction with Professor Wakim, but he certainly makes himself available if you do need him.
