Comment:

Class starts out easy and gets harder, show up even though it's easy, it'll come back to bite you. Her accent is tough to understand, but she's such a sweet lady. She's always willing to help in and out of the classroom. She even gave me hints on the final when I was about to give up. Go even though attendance isn't mandatory, trust me.

Comment:

Very sweet lady. She takes the time to go over things with you outside of class if you are not understanding the work. As far as a math class goes though, it can't get much easier... Just show up and you should do well. The grading is fair.

Seems like she is teaching herself while teaching the class. She is helpful when you ask her for help one on one though. She lets you retake quizzes and tests if you are not happy with your grade. She is a nice lady but her teaching is not that great.

Professor Polanskaya was extremely helpful and understanding both inside and outside the classroom. She was always available to review if something wasn't understood during class. If you do the work and put in the effort, you will end the class with an A.

NEVER taking a class with her again. I couldn't understand a work she says and she is rude and doesn't want to help students. She is teaching herself as she teaches you. You will go to class and not know what you are doing. My math lab is a pain and you have long HW assignments.

The worst math professor I've ever had. Even though I'm really good at math, I pearly passed this. When she does problems she's doing them for herself I mean she doesn't teach you and expect you to know everything before taking the course. She tells you to come to her office for help but treat as you're stupid. I learned the course from mymathlab.

She is one of the most supportive and considerate teachers I have ever had. She met with me so many times outside of class to go over what I didn't understand, without judgment. She is extremely nice. Tests are open note. You can retake quizzes and turn in homework late. Just focus like you should be anyway and you'll do fine.

Comment:

Polyanskaya was the easiest teacher I ever had besides her strong accent. Her class was a breeze for me because math is my kind of thing. If you're not good at math, pay attention in class and ask questions. There are quizzes every Wednesday, two tests, and a final. Don't buy the textbook, just the MyMathLab for the online homework assignments.

Quizzes every Wednesday and homework every night. The homework was online though, so it was easy to do late if needed. If you pay attention and are good at math, you will do well. If you're bad at math and don't pay attention, you'll probably fail.

Very nice professor. I struggled with the subject at first, but she was always available to talk to and found good ways to help me understand. Always easy to approach and passionate about her job. If you don't talk during class and put effort in, it is easy to pass. Text book was optional to save student's money. Would love to take her again!

had Sp 2011; honestly, if you know basic math you will do completely fine in her class. Yes, her accent is a little difficult to understand but if you do the hw and at least attempt to pay attention in class you'll have an easy A. She gives you a packet of equations to use on all tests and the final, take notes in it and you're golden.

Dont take her. Shes so hard to understand and does and awful job of explaining things. Attendance isnt mandatory and going to the class is pointless anyways because shes a terrible teacher. Dont but the mathlab either, becuase we never used it. You'll basically have to teach yourself the material, her tests are hard.

She is one of the worst math teachers I have this semester. Right now I have the highest grade in the class. And I fix her mistakes on examples and problems she does. She is not even suppose to be teaching this course, she is suppose to be teaching the business course 134.

If you've already taken this sort of math in high school and are talking the class for credit, take it. She's a little (not TOO) tough to understand and just sort of breezes over material. Just don't talk the whole class and do most of your homework (which you can turn in whenever).

Comment:

Great professor! Everyone complains in class that she doesn't explain well, but they are always too busy talking and that's the reason why they don't understand the material. She let's you use your notes on all quizzes and tests including the final, in addition, a 2 day review before each test and the review sheet is pretty similar to the test!
