He lectures well, and covers everything that will be on the test. I found that just showing up and taking good notes is enough to do well - I received an A - but unless you keep up on the reading 100% don't miss any classes. Would take him again.

Attendance for this class is not mandatory, but the material is very interesting and relateable. You could get by with just filling out the exam study guides with information from the book, but the class lectures are enjoyable. There's a midterm, final, and two reading quizzes that are all online.

He is a great professor and he makes communication so easy to understand. He makes it very relatable too! There are 2 reading quizzes and the quizzes are online and the reading for the quizzes in somewhat difficult to understand its about 21 pages of an academic article. Midterm is online and easy. Final is also online and easy. One essay easy!

He is a nice guy and seems quite intelligible about his course however, it seems that he easily picks favorites in the class and like most teachers does not put any record of what you're making in the course on moodle - i.e you have this currently in the class, this is what you made on blah blah. I'd recommend him though because he is laid back. :)

Its one of those big lecture classes with 150 students, but if you seriously come to class every time and do the class notes and read your book and actually do your homework then this class is going to be a breeze for you. Make sure to do well in the reading quizzes and your one essay. Best professor ever

I actually really enjoyed the lectures in this class, and despite the fact that half the class never went, I still was usually always there because I found the lectures fun and interesting. The work load is very easy, and you can do well without coming, but he does have some material on the tests that is only from class. Helps to have the notes.

Review for COMM 100 too. I like this teacher a lot. He's intelligent and has a lot to offer. He is so unclear on assignments, though! He gives you a due date, and that's about it. There is no guideline as to what he's looking for, so you have no idea if you're getting an A or an F. He needs more structure to his assignments.

Class is super easy. this was my favorite class this semester. 2 quizzes, 2 tests, and a paper. GO TO CLASS! you'll be really tempted not to, but a lot of material on the midterm and final were from lecture material. You also definitely need the book.

great class. really introduces you to the world of communication and all the theories and terms that go with it. you have 2 exams and 3 essays.. not bad at all. the teacher is a very good speaker and passionate about communication. come to class! if you come to class then you don't have to read the textbook as much as if you never attended at all.

He's boring but the class if you go is easy. There are three papers you have to turn in to pass(only two are graded). This is a big lecture class and he doesn't use a powerpoint so if you have a short attention span you'll prob be lost. I thought the grading scale was very skewed. 70% is test and the other 30 is based on the papers.

Professor Hurst is amazing! One of the best teachers Ive had at CSUSM, even with his intelligence level, he really knows how to relate to students. He's very laid back and personable. His classes are easy and fun, and If I have an opportunity to take another class with him, im taking it!

He is an awesome professor! His lectures are fun and interesting and he loves class participation during the lectures. We did two papers that weren't too hard and two tests. He is very approachable and friendly. I hope to take him again in the future.

took health comm over summer... very easy class. As long as you go and participate with the easy discussions you can get an easy A. There is a research paper due related to comm/health, but you can choose ANY topic and its super easy. He is very approachable too! EASY A and the class discussions were actually pretty interesting-easy to participate!

I have had him for three classes. He is by far my favorite professor on campus. He is so down to earth, helpful, and very interesting. He engages the class and does not just talk AT you for hours. His classes usually consist of a few papers, which he easily guides you through, and an essay final, and he gives you the questions ahead of time. GREAT!

He is so awsome. He does not take role, attendence isn't mandatory but you do need to get the notes from class because that's where the exam questions are from. Basically he wants you to behave like a university student since he won't chase anyone around to go to class. 3 super easy online exams, 3 super easy papers. I suggest everyone to take him.
