Average class. Wasn't difficult, as long as you do your work you'll be fine. A couple of extra credit opportunities. Leaves extra resources just in case you are interested. There were a lot of tests, so you must study. I didn't buy the book, you'll do fine without it.

She is such a sweet professor. If you skip class, do not plan on passing. You're studying the beginning of the camera all the way to cinema in the 70s. You have 3 tests, one paper. Tests are 100 Q and 15 bonus. You do need the book. Take note of everything on the slides. Don't hope that she cancels class, she never does. She is never mean, amazing.

This is Diversity in Cinema. This amazing class really changed my point of view. I see life different now. I can understand a much wide horizon of diversity an opinions. I think this class has to be mandatory in every institution of art. Thanks Professor.

Her lectures last almost 3 hours despite promises of films to watch. Its the Seinfeld of film classes, a class about nothing, except this is no joke. Try to avoid this professor at all costs, other professors are more difficult but actually engage you. Which makes it easier to get through.

she is funny, kind and very informed on the topics that she teaches. This is a history class, so there may be topic that one could find "boring". the class is mostly a lecture, but powerpoints are very clear and she loves class discussions. there were a few test and one paper. extra credit for attending outside events and on the test.

Not really a subject I was interested in, but the class ended up being informative and the Professor was great. 3 tests (lowest score dropped) and 1 paper. Show up to class, take notes, and you'll pass.

Took her for Diversity in Cinema 103, and I have to say it was a blast. Lecture was simple and clear, just take notes on everything and pay attention, watch the clips from movies she shows, maybe watch some movies mentioned in the class if you're curious. You WILL pass as long as you pay attention. Learn a lot and it's easy and fun.

Professor Rodriguez was one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her class was challenging but it was worth it. She is so caring and patient and really teaches the subject matter. I will definitely be taking her again.

I took her Cinema 105 class online and it was very easy. She's really nice and helpful too. You have 3 tries on the quizzes and no time limit. You just need to read the modules as the quizzes follow her modules and not on the book. Some people bought her book but it is expensive. I didn't need it and still passed the class. Take her if you can.

Cares about her student passing her class she replies to your messages if you have any concerns/questions, always posting on the website to make sure ur on track even reminded us of the assignments all the time. She allows multiple options for E.C, allows you to drop one of the lowest test grades, read the book/modules and do your discussions!

Stressful. Do not take this and General Eds at the same time. Class meets twice a week but only worth three credits! Low enrollment with possible cancellation AFTER semester starts. Mandatory - You have to get green light to shoot your project. Students kept not getting green light over minor things. One day to shoot. Take it at Pierce College.

Skip her. You either really like her or really dislike her. You will know first day which group you fall into. I had no trouble in class, but the toxic atmosphere between students who like and dislike detracted from the learning environment. Had to study alone. Tests and papers are college level. She does make extra-credit available on tests.

I love Prof Rodriguez! Yes, of course you must be ready to use your mind and participate in her classes. I took Cinema 103 - Diversity in Cinema. She is very knowledgeable and respectful in the way she speaks about the subjects she covers. Not a lot of hw, but studying for the tests is a must. Anytime she says "hint hint", it will be on the test.

Online Class - It was alright but I was not blown away or felt like I learned a whole lot. The discussions barely count for any points which I found odd. Not difficult class and you can drop your worst exam grade. She is nice though and she really loves film.

You are graded on participation. She loves having you give input during her lectures. Write down everything she talks about, it's on the test. When she says "hint, hint" put stars next to that, it will for sure be on the test! Easy A if you attend class, participate and study for the tests. I learned so much in this class! I loved it!

This class counts for IGETC and is a required elective for all the media arts certificates! I ended up dropping it last time to focus on other classes and regreted doing so. Prof Rodriguez is in her element teaching all the amazing and often overlooked contributions of women and minorities to film. So happy they are offering it Spring 17!

Wonderful lectures! Prof Rodriguez digs deep into her lecture material, even distinguishing between Kammerspiel and German Expressionism. There a few tests and a few papers and she will answer questions about the test material even upto right before the test if your confused! Tries to screen as many movie clips as time allows. Highly recommend!
