Comment:

Gets distracted and off topic easily. Basically reads his power points and then puts them on black board. Worth going to class for small bits of info he doesn't include on slides sometimes, just frustrating to deal with his ADD and forgetfulness sometimes. Nice person.

He is extremely boring!! He never takes attendance, but out of no where he may hand out a study guide in class instead of putting it on blackboard. Study hard for test and you should be okay. No extra credit, only test grades.

Dr.Kleve is very knowledgeable in in Biology but he does tend to get off subject during his lectures. The book is NOT needed despite what he may say in the beginning of the semester. Print out the notes he puts up on blackboard and bring them to class! Tests are very easy if you study his detailed notes.

Comment:

Cool professor that tries to get noobs interested in biology. Exam questions are easy, but you need to make an effort to study. Complete all lab experiments thoroughly or you are wasting your learning experience. He does get angry at students (freshmen are idiots) but he has a good reason. Very kind person with a sense of humor.

He only gives tests, but covers materials well. You do not have to go to class, he posts all of his notes on blackboard. He also posts detailed study guides. There is not reason to not pass this class. I didn't go for two months and still made a B in the class. He does get off topic, but the tests arent difficult if you study.

Great professor, very understanding of how difficult the material is for undergraduates yet doesn't skip out on any of the details in developmental biology. If you're looking for an education in biology without the gaps or missing detail, Dr. Kleve is for you.

Took for Developmental Bio. Dr. Kleve is brilliant and has a wealth of knowledge about biology and research. Tests have some essay portions but he tells you exactly what will be on them. Prepare for many tangents and unrelated stories, some of which will be repeated throughout the semester. You can learn a lot if you have some background.

Doesn't stay on task. Its hard to even focus on this class. He doesn't lecture from the book although he recommended it. Never stay on topics. Pile test together 8-10 without any quizzes just test. he's always all over the place. take another teacher for biology (payne) because you do not want Kleeve.

OMG, is he serious? He never stays on topic when lecturing. Good luck passing the 8-10 chapter tests. Oh, not to forget who knows what edition he is teaching out of. He suggests a book on the first day of class and does not go by it! What a joke!! You may as well teach yourself.

I enjoyed the class, he's funny, and interesting. I like old people though, you can learn a lot from them. He used a lot of handouts and I liked that, you knew what was on the tests, and his study guides were spot on. If you knew the handouts and study guides then you were going to do just fine. Dont worry about the book, its a guide to go by.

This guy is so hilarious. He is really too smart to be teaching regular biology. He makes class fun and interesting because he makes a fool of himself. The tests are very simple. Don't go to class to learn, just watch him act a fool.

This guy can't stay on topic if his life depended on it! He has done EVERYTHING in life there is to do, just ask him. He can be funny sometimes, but more annoying than anything. No need to go to class, just pass the test that are on 7-8 chapters at a time.

Very disorganized. A bit obnoxious. Not very helpful at all. Class attendance isn't required, but he gives a new handout prcatically every class and those are what you use to study for the tests. Don't waste your money on the book. The 4 tests are 20% of your grade each, plus your lab grade.

Absolutely horrid professor. Disorganized, unprepared, does not inform the student of topics covered and jumps around topics so much that you cannot compensate for his lack of teaching. Often rambles about personal issues and insults the students in his "lectures" and then runs out of time for the topics. Complete disappointment and waste of time.

If you get the handouts you don't even need to go to class, he reads them verbatim Talks about random stuff that has nothing to do with anything but his health. Talks a lot about scientific theories that practically only he believes. If you want to hear a lot about how he has died over and over, take the class but keep in mind..Catholic Bio Prof.

I took Dr. Kleve for developmental biology. If you are one of those students who likes organization this may not be the teacher for you. Forgeting to bring our tests on the day of an exam was a common occurance. But, the exams were extremely easy, just follow the study guide. I did get a bit tired of all of his stories.
