Be prepared to put in a lot of outside work and to sit through long and boring lectures. For the class you do about 7 projects each taking over 80 pictures. If you have a strong passion for photography go for it, otherwise beware. Ardine is nice and friendly but is a tough grader. You really have to work to receive a good grade in this class.

If you are not majoring in Art or Design, DO NOT take this class..I pretty regret that I didn't drop it before the deadline. It is really ridiculous that 3-credits class takes 6 hours for a week, excluding your assignment time, which might need more than 3 or 4 hours for each assignment, and they grade you in a strict way as well as the midterm

If photography is a passion of yours, Ardine's class will be right up your ally. If you're looking to get a GE out of the way, you'll probably find assignments to be tedious and lectures to be very long and boring. It's a lot of work to pile on top of other labor-intensive GEs. I do not recommend for those just trying to get a GE out of the way.

Ardine is one of the most knowledgeable people in photography that you will meet. She is also always willing to help trouble shoot. Unfortunately she does not give sufficient time to complete projects and she is not lenient in grading even when she knows that you tried really hard and everything went wrong. (Almost no work time in class either)

Ardine knows everything about photography. She can sometimes go over your head but she stop her and she will explain until you understand. A wealth of knowledge combined with many years of experience. I highly recommend Ardine Ohio State is lucky to have her.

Can be quite flexible, almost to the point of being directionless. So maybe not the best teacher for lower level classes, but fantastic for people who are led by their own direction. Amazingly knowlageable and always helpful.
