Tony was an easy-going teacher. You will get a good grade if you pay attention to what he says he likes and then tailor your projects toward that. It's best to test out a few concepts with each project...if he even likes one he'll give you an A.

Don't take this class unless you already know about photography. He does not teach you anything that you need to know for the tests. It's all about doing the projects which take so much time and cost a lot to print 8x10 prints. I have a 3.7 gpa and struggled to get an A- is this class. It was terrible and not what I thought.

I had the luxury of having an amazing TA that went over lectures with us to prepare us for the test so i stopped going to Tonys lectures and still got an A. He was too excentric for me and made every photo abotu sex so I was more than happy to skip his lectures.

Very great! Lecturers are kinda boring the stuff is on the test, but if you get the list of photographers for the test from your TA, you can usually get a good grade on the test by looking up the photographs. The technical stuff is easy.

He's OK, the first lecture was really interesting but they got boring. The class isnt too hard but your grade comes from the TA. Exams are pretty easy but you can get A's on them but if you get one too many Bs on projects you won't get an A. They grade tougher as the projects go on and are weighted more, dont slack off at the end and you'll be fine

Tony mendoza is great, however your experience in his class will depend on your TA (as the recs. are longer than the lectures and are often mandatory). That said, The lectures are generally interesting, as it consists mostly of slide shows. You will learn a lot about Art History/Photography history without too much painstaking memorization. BEWARE:

I liked his slideshows, but the actual lecture had not much to do with anything. The class was less than worthless. I thought it was a waste of money to spend so much on film/developing. As someone who is interested in more than novice photography, I was frustrated by the inanity of this course. You could learn more by doing it all on your own.

by far the hardest art class i have ever taken at osu. put counless hard hours, not to mention money that i pull majically out of my ass. the tests are ridiculs and pointless to study for - cuz there's nothing on the exam that was mentioned in class. hard to understand lecture with his accent too....

such an annoying class! he just rambles about stuff & repeats everything 100 times. he gives you a breakdown of the test but too bad the test is nothing like what he says! the projects are stupid & it is a worthless waste of time & lots of money, i probably spent at least $200 and i had a camera!
