Comment:

Very nice woman, just gets off topic very often. Talks about things so irrelevant that everyone stops listening. Syllabus was redone twice because it was very unorganized. Try not to take a 3 hour class with her if you can. Content of lectures were interesting if you enjoy art. Extra credit was very helpful.

DO NOT take her class. Had to drop her Flower does not give you a clear answer on what is to be expected and changes what is require of the assignments to get a good grade depending on how she feel that day and can be change again. She repeatably tells students to refer to the syllabus if there are any questions but her syllabus is not helpful

Do not take her classes. Incredibly unorganized. Strictly reads off powerpoint. Can't pronounce half the lecture. Can't back up with examples off the top of her head. Doesn't give clear instruction for assignments, buts grades really tough. Spends most of the class trying to get her computer to work, find papers, ramble about nonsense, etc.

I really want to like Ms. Flowers, she's a very nice teacher. But she is not clear about what is expected of us in class. Every lecture is simply read from a power point presentation and she can't back up what she says with examples. She's very unorganized. It seems like an easy A, but painful to sit through the three hour class.

She is very unclear with her instructions, then grades like she thoroughly explained the assignments and knocks points off for things she never mentioned. If you email her about an assignment she'll say something like do your best, or not reply at all. She does not know how to properly run an online class.

Comment:

Took an online class with Flowers. Does not communicate well via writing, which is key in an online class. Watch out for the tests! The questions often expect you to complete a quote from the book verbatim without any prior indication as to which quotes will be important. Would NOT recommend taking an online class with this teacher.

Flowers does not have a clear grading rubric at all and it is recommended to clarify with her about assignments and big projects. She knows her Humanities but seems very disorganized. Be ready to self-teach yourself to pass the class.

Horrible. Rude to students, has laughed at many in class. Is rude when talking about faculty. Should have been fired a long time ago. She has such a cool subject, and she doesn't utilize the tools around her. Consistent typos and poor lectures. Do not take her class.

She confuses herself a lot. When someone asks her questions, she explains it off topic or a student will help her answer. The class seems to be easy but her grading is messed up. A nice professor but I don't recommend!

This professor doesn't know what she is doing. When what she explained wasn't clear to students, she shamed the student who asked her to clarify. She had us buy a textbook but didn't assign readings, then she tested on text material. She isn't supportive, nor is she approachable, do not look for guidance. Nice person, unsupportive teacher.

This professor's grading is HORRIBLE!! There were so many assignments I received low scores on but wasn't given an explanation why? She does do her lectures through power point and isn't clear at all on her grading.. She is a nice person but as far as teaching goes she isn't good. Prepare to do a lot of essays and reading with little time to study

HORRIBLE! Don't waste your time and money on a teacher that only reads off her power points, (which are on her website) so then why bother come to class there is no difference I can read the lecture at home, I didn't learn anything I'm her class she is very unorganized and unclear. She often looks confused herself! I don't recommend this class!

She is HORRIBLE prof. She isn't clear about what she wants. She will Not clear your excused absences. She will say don't worry but she will drop you week before school ends. She talks about that she has to strict about absences because if you cut 4 or more classes (excused absences included) the school will lose its credential.

This professor is absolutely HORRIBLE! DO NOT take her class! she's unorganized, doesn't follow the syllabus and puts sections that she never went over on the final then gets mad when you tell her. She goes off on rants in class that have nothing to do with humanities and when asked why you got the grade you got she cannot explain! bad just BAD

She is a tough grader, it is difficult to receive full credit because she takes away many points. She relies heavily on PowerPoint for lectures. She says buying her book is optional but the review for her book is mandatory. I strongly recommend that people look elsewhere for a humanities class. She is not clear on explaining assignments.

I do not recommend flowers to anyone. I warn you to stay away. The entire class had trouble with her this semester. She doesn't care about your grade at all. Also heard she is not getting rehired.

It isn't hard to get an A in Professor Flowers's class as long as you read the syllabusdirections and also ask her for help and clarification. She will assist you so long as you ask. I took her class Fall 2010 and I miss having her as my professor.

I would never take a class from her again! She is a horrible teacher! She constantly changes criteria for assignments at last minute. Her assignments are unclear and if you want to know your grade or you want papers back we'll wait till the end of the semester.

Comment:

August Flowers is probably the most confusing teacher ive ever had. She does not tell you when assignments are due, so have fun. I say that her class is an easy A because IF she happens to tell you when an assignment is due, you'll get it done. She gives pop quizzes galore, and doesn't tell you when you have tests, so pop tests too.
