Barbara was awesome! Super Patient and understanding. I felt like she really cared about her students and is an expert in her craft. Although you need a textbook, the tests are mostly commonsense questions. No need waste your money. Lectures are a bit boring, but there is tons of group work and the semester flew by. Speech was not bad at all!!

SUPER EASY CLASS TO PASS. ATTENDANCE MATTERS. Her lectures are long, boring and pretty much useless but if you just show up you'll pass. She's super lenient on grading and will give you a second chance. Definitely take her for speech!

Comment:

Mrs. Barb is a great teacher! Her grading for exams, presentations and assignments are more than clear. She can blab on a subject for abbot too long, but it also shows her passion for what she is teaching. Attendance isn't mandatory BUT it's extra credit that can help at the end. 4 speeches total and I would definitely recommend her class!

Comment:

I love this class even if speech is very nerve-racking. It helped me gain confidence to speak in front of the class and take control on what I want my speech to be. It gave me leadership confidence that I didn't knew existed. So if you're the shy type but want to change it, try taking her class. Read the book for the exams, tips, and have fun.

Four multiple choice/true-false tests throughout Four presentations: present your partner(2 min), group presentation on chapter assigned(5 min/person), informative presentation(5-8), persuasive presentation(6-8) not much homework. mostly boring, unnecessary class time that doesn't cover whats on the test. but gives a review of whats on the test

She is an excellent teacher!!!! She grades very generously and understands mistakes can be made. Her speeches are a maximum of 6 minutes long. Her lectures are fairly boring, but there is a group project type of thing every class. You definitely make friends in this class which helps a lot with giving speeches. Overall, it is an excellent class!!

Miss Barbara is awesome. Down to earth, kind, caring, encouraging, helpful, intelligent. At the beginning of this semester, I was NOT looking forward to this class. I do not enjoy public speaking. Miss Barbara made class so fun and enjoyable. Take her!!!

Ms. Barbara understands the fear of public speaking which many people have. She also understands the dilemma which ESL usually have for public speaking. Great step by step teaching. Strongly recommend for anybody who don't like public speech.

Really knows her material, well organized, doesn't give extra credit. Even tho' this is an interpersonal communications course, you'll be graded rather strictly on your public speaking skills when they are called for. Interesting class. Lots of info that can be meaningful in personal life. By the 2nd or 3rd class, you'll know everyone's names!

She is very patient and forgiving with students. Before tests she goes over everything that will be on the tests as well as the answers. As long as you take her class seriously and try your best you will do really well in her class! She is a great professor and I would gladly take this class again!

She seems easy. But she graded using cluster in which our grade could be rank down. Even though I studied hard and my final graded percentage was above 90%, however she gave me the grade "B". Don't trust her.

Easy A! Study guide given and textbook is only needed for the study guide for exams. Two big speeches but she grades easily. A few group projects. Just attend class and participate. Other than that, she's a good instructor. Though she's monotone and sometimes hard to understand. Taking notes aren't necessary in class.

Very easy speech class, you need a communication class as a requirement? take norfleet, if your shy an not talkative trust me this class will help you. nice and easy going teacher, have only 4 speeches all semester. and exams is easy, just remember the definitions

took the summer class,for the first two weeks it's very laid back. And then you start to give a speech every week. don't use textbooks except for the tests and the tests are very easy. no need to study that much. Overall good to take in summer since it's not a tight class nor requie you to read the book everyday. she rarely comes to class on time.
