Talks about his life too much. I dropped the class after he gave a 30min speech on why he doesn't believe in climate change, was enough for me to walk out and as far away as possible from this idiot.

Comment:

Barry is one of the most laid back profs Ive had at Concordia. However, he comes to class and pretty much talks about his life. His slides have no resemblance to what is on the exam. If you read the book youre good to go. You can pass the exam without going to his lectures but he attributes 10% of your grade to being in class.

Comment:

Barry is the funniest and coolest guy ever. But he's not so great of a prof. His lectures are literally useless, and he expects you to know the stuff from the book for the midterm and exams. A lot of questions on the exams weren't even discussed in class. It's too much work for an ELECTIVE, and not worth the trouble.

Amazing teacher, cuts to the chase, understands students a lot, will take the time to review your exam. Makes the class fun by giving very relevant examples. If youre to take this class, I would 100% recommend him!!

I took Mana 202 as an elective last semester and Barry made it very enjoyable. Only multiple choice on mid-term and 1/2 mltp choice 1/2 short answers on final. Lastly, a 20% 'participation' grade that only consisted of showing up + doing an optional presentation on any interesting subject. Fun lectures Easy tests (read slides and book) Cool prof

Very relaxed prof who shows up and basically talks about his life. He post all his slides online and always tells you EXACTLY what will be on the exam. So you dont really have to show up to class. Just download the slides, read the book and your set. But the classes are very entertaining. So its definitely a solid bonus. 4.5/5 Would take again.

Barry is such a good guy. Really chill class but still interesting. He has a lot of work experience and knowledge he shares with the class so his lectures are never boring.

Really chill guy. Filled with a lot of humor and jokes He tries to be as clear as possible while explaining the content. He doesn't give any homework, just one group project. For the midterm and final, he reduces the course content further more just to make your life easy. He's very specific on which chapters are coming and which ones aren't

seemed more focused on making sure his lectures were "fun". Although he was funny and largely entertaining, his lectures were useless. He just read off the power point really fast and assumed you would read the book for the exam, often class ended really early. VERY hard to reach outside of class or EMAIL. Would not take again if you want to learn.

Don't expect feedback, help support or interest on his part. Funny lectures, but he may go on and on on random things. Very clear on what will be on exams, all though very unclear on project guidelines, and won't help you.

Barry's lectures are awesome and he relates the info in the slides to personal experience which makes it more interesting, but I didn't know he was going to be such a harsh grader. My advice is to put a ton of work into the group project and make sure it's as close to what he wants as possible. His exams were easy.

Easy midterms. Tough grader for group paper so choosing a good group is important. He won't intentionally fail anyone so read the slides and study the cases on the textbook and you'll be fine.

He never answered one e-mail and was impossible to reach. If you don't learn it by yourself, you will definitely fail the class. Class was super disorganized and the portal was still with information from last semester. Impossible to follow along. Don't avoid him, but he's a hard marker. Makes you work for your marks.
