Comment:
I took him because he's in theory, the easier professor but he is the worst professor I have had at Emory. He says do not use the book and instead if explaining concepts, he emphasizes remembering random arbitrary numbers from his notes that he has said maybe once. I got the average in his class for my year and I feel like I learned nothing. Beware

Comment:
He pulls out the most random things for the test and expects you to know it. His lectures are dry, boring, and unhelpful. He once yelled at a student for asking for more practice problems and, another time, pretty much called a girl stupid. Once, he went on a 10 minute rant about how he is annoyed when people walk in late. He terrifies me.

I thought How Things Work was supposed to be fun and interesting, but his lectures are so boring and uninspirational that I decided to drop. So much for saying that the class doesn't need prior science knowledge... you won't understand half his vague, confusing lectures without knowing chem!

Yeah, I took his class a few semesters back. I got an A- in Orgo but struggled when I had to take Weinshienk the next semester for Orgo II. Can you go from Menger to Weinshienk and be successful? Yea, you just have to work harder. The easy A looks nice on the transcript though! Lol!

Comment:
His class is not that hard to get an A in. If you go to class and do the problem sets he gives you, you'll do fine. Skipping class is not an option because he picks out random stuff from the lecture notes on the exams. The textbook is helpful but it's necessary to read every section, going to the lectures is really what will help you pass.

Comment:
Menger may be easy, but he has failed to keep up with current research and actually seems terrified by it. He is noticeably unaware of relevant material beyond 1940 and this is apparent in his lackluster methods. Emory's reputation is called into question as long as they continue to employ this senile Luddite.

Ok, it's not the easiest class ever, but it is definitely A-able. The most important thing is to take notes on everything he says because anything can come up on a test. He is really not looking to fail anyone. If a person fails this class then they must have really been slacking because he provides ample opportunity to increase your grade.

There's a reason why he isn't an English teacher. He DOES NOT know how to ask questions for a test. He could be asking the easiest question but words it in such a way you don't understand. He also asks stupid details and the stuff that you think is important, he doesn't even asks about. Avoid him, if you can.

Well, how do I start? This was supposed to be an interesting and one of the less challenging classes, but it turned out to be one of the hardest classes I've taken at Emory. He asks unreasonably detailed and difficult questions on the test that are more appropriate for trivia where grades/GPA are not at stake. Save your GPA, avoid this teacher.

He gives innacurate information, holds you responsible for information he specifically says that you aren't going to be responsible for, and asks the most ridiculous questions on his tests. On top of everything, if you try to discuss these things with him, he refuses to listen. He's completely unreasonable and careless.
