Comment:
Attendance is mandatory, but going to class isn't a big of a deal. Lectures are fairly boring, technology in class isn't necessary. I didn't take notes this entire semester during class but would spend 5-6 hours studying the night before the exams. The exams are specific, but the study guide covers everything necessary. Overall, a mediocre class.

Broome is someone who has a lot of experience in the field of this class. However, he's incredibly boring, and he literally updated grades 2 singular times the whole semester. I wasn't told how to improve my discussions/participation, and the study guides for our two tests did not help. If he updated grades regularly, I could've got a better grade.

Broome is a great person--he is passionate about intercultural com and has the creditantals to teach it. However, his class is set up that you need to get high grades on every single discussion board, participation, test because there are so few things in the grade book. attendance is mandatory and you'll need to read a lot of articles

Professor Broome is such a genuinely nice person with lots of real life knowledge, but this class was just so boring that I don't know if it was worth it.

Broome is alright... and I really do mean just alright. His lectures can be boring, but as long as you show up physically, you will get full points for going to class. The exams are quite extensive, so use Quizlet to make sure you know all of the vocab before taking the tests. Broome cares if you make the effort.

Professor is not the best communicator, ironically enough. Lectures are mandatory, but pretty much useless since the exams cover topics discussed in the textbook. Very high expectations for exams (60-75 MC Q's w 4 essay Q's). There are word count requirements for everything which is a drag since most things can be explained in 2 sentences or less.

Professor Broome is a very easy teacher and the only homework he gives is a weekly discussion post. There are only two exams that are fairly easy, a few group projects, and one final paper. He's an easy grader, except he will take off participation points if you don't go to class, even if you have an excused absence.

Professor Broome is a nice guy who clearly knows the subject, but his lectures are 90% rambling. It's nearly impossible to know what he's talking about. The tests are straight out of the book, but he takes participation points off even if you have EXCUSED absences.

Broome is super sweet and he teaches from experience. Be ready to listen and engage in class discussion and reading as it's basically the entirety of the class. Grades consist of attendance, discussions posts and a final paper (which basically decides what grade you get).

The most brilliant professor I have had at Arizona State University. He teaches solely from experience. If you take the time to appreciate his experiences and knowledge, then you will enjoy the class. Do the study guides!

Nicest guy ever. Attendance not mandatory but takes roll everyday, if you read the textbook/study the study guides then you'll get an A on the exams. Discussions due every week (really easy) so if you do well on tests/discussions you won't need to come to class. It can be tough to get through this class it's pretty dry

By far the worst expierence Ive had at ASU. This teacher is beyond BORING!! He talks and talks and usually makes no points. I would not suggest this class to anyone! especially a night course. Never again in my life would i take this professor. Easy Grading but its not worth it.

Extremely easy and cool teacher-Just take notes on all the lectures which is easy because he has everything on the projector. The only time you need to use the book is to study for the tests: Read the ?'s on the back of the chapters and know the bolded/italic terms. Fun hw-1 discussion board maybe 200words a week

He's great! Lectures were laidback and discussion-based, and he would always open class with something interesting. As someone previously said, he's more into the experience you take. He definitely made my college experience the best inside and outside of the class! His exams weren't bad; M/C over the textbook and short answer over the reader.

Great guy. person who commented with bad reviews probably failed the class. He will work with students on an individual basis and accomodate projects/work to fit the classes needs (if asked). Actual classes can be monotonous but still better than some others. MUST TAKE

Dr. Broome can sometimes be rather hard to listen to. He tends to have a monotone voice and speaks slowly. But he's incredibly insightful and very easy to work with. He's into the experience the students walk away with. Tests are complicated, but he's easy otherwise. Lots of class discussion. Overall, I good professor. I recommend him to others.

Easy class. Easy prof. This guy is so incredibly nice and friendly. You can't help but like him. Also, he managed to get Hugh Downs and Governor Napolitano as guest speakers. We were encouraged to contribute questions for Mr. Downs as well. I enjoyed this class immensely.
