I was a little scared to take her class based on some of these reviews. Her class was a little difficult, but she always offered to stay after to help and stopped during class to make sure everyone got it. She also gives partial credit if you work is right but you get the answer wrong. I though she was a nice professor!

Make sure to arrive early to class and ace the tests, or you shall invoke her anger. I came in late, and as a result, I was treated rudely by her. The last time she was not rude when talking with me, was when she wished me luck on my final two hours after I took it

One of the worst teachers at this college. Very rude and treats students like they're in high school and even assigns seats. Don't take her class.

No personality. Wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Does not allow makeups even with doctors note or family emergency. Does not care if you pass or fail the class. Just a rude person in general. No phones. Does not smile.

Ms. Howard spoon-feeds you the material. If you do the homework, pay attention, and attend class, you will pass. Some of these reviews are harsh stating that she doesn't have a personality. That isn't required to teach math. I would recommend taking this course with her instruction if you are willing to put in effort.

Good teacher. Nothing amazing or inspirational, but she teaches clearly and helps you if you need help. She will ask in between each lesson if anybody has any questions and will stay after class to help. As long as you're trying she is very friendly and helpful.

Mrs. Howard is an excellent teacher. Exams come off the tests, and the tests come with study guides that are all you'll need to master the material. Anybody, whom has written poorly about her is just very confused about math, and probably just not capable of doing well in the class all together. Made a 97% in Business Calc. and I'm horrible in math

Mrs. Howard is honestly the WORST teacher I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. I find it incomprehensible that she's still teaching at GTC. Her pass rate is morbid and it's a direct reflection on her. Do NOT take her. If you accidentally get her, DROP the class and find another teacher ASAP.

Not very helpful. Every time she was asked a question she responded with "I know you have seen this before". She did always offer to help anyone that wanted to stay after class but when I did, she was still litle help. She always let class out early. She gave TONS of Homework.

A lot of your success depends on the teacher. You won't find success in her class. She makes no sense whatsoever. She gets irate when asked questions. At least half of the time her class turned into a "how-to" for your calculator. Guess what? I know how to use mine. Her class was a complete waste of time seeing as I have to retake it! DO NOT TAKE!

Wonderful teacher! She expects you to know Alg 101 before you start, which you should. She assigns homework, but gives you an extra 100 if you turn in all your homework on time, easy A!! She's extremely helpful and willing to work a problem over and over until you get it. I would take her again in a heartbeat, great teacher!

She was not helpful at all. She expects you to know the material before she even teaches it and she gets mad and offended if you ask her a question on something you dont understand. She gives no partial credit on her tests! If you dont do it excatly the way she taught it she will mark it wrong or she will tell you dont do it like that.

I was not really excited about taking this class, and I took it over the summer. But she is a really good teacher and will go over the material as many times as needed. And another plus, we got out early every class period!! :)

Does not have the greatest personality, however I liked her as a teacher. After she does an example on the board she will ask if everyone understands it or has any questions. If you do the suggested homework assignments it will help. Her tests come from the homework problems. Keep all of your tests, the majority of the final comes from them.

Comment:

Extremely difficult to understand, she didn't appear happy with having to answer the many questions that my class had, the tests were very difficult (adequate review was NOT given!) The scoring on the tests was confusing, and it appeared that no partial credit was given! All in all I would advise that you stay away from this teacher!!
