Comment:

Dr. Kanner is extremely encouraging and truly wants you to succeed. I was so nervous for a college course during the winter session, but professor Kanner made it much less stressful! Yes, there was a lot of work, but that was to be expected for an intersession class, but she made sure she only tested what she taught which was so helpful. Loved it!

She is awesome! The class is very organized and she tells you exactly what you need to know for exams, in the lectures. As long as you do assignments the way she likes them, you'll do great.

I made this account just so I could rate her. Terrible teacher. I had to withdraw. She made up things as she went "look on the syllabus for my expectations" and they were not there. Do yourself a favor and DONT do it. Don't take it. You're looking at the other rates like "ehh she seems kinda bad. Let me try it out." Wish I could have given her a 0

Comment:

Dr. Kanner is actually a wonderful professor. There is a lot of homework and there are quizzes after every chapter but the content is talked about for a whole class period in depth before the quiz and they are not hard. She definitely cares about her students and their grades, and honestly if you do the work you will get good grades.

Comment:

Professor Kanner reads every phrase in the sentence and would alert you of your shortcomings. Her feedback is exemplary to the extent that I wonder how she gets time to provide feedback in a timely manner. She responds to e-mail within minutes if not seconds ans will always welcome appointment even an impromptu one. She listens and accommodates.

Dr. Kanner is an amazing professor! I took my first online class worried about how difficult it may be not having a professor face-to-face. By no means was this class easy, but she was always there with a quick email when it was needed with constant kind words. I will definitely be taking another class with her in the future.

Shes a very tough grader. Got overwhelmed from the high work so I ended up withdrawing. Not only that, she still gave me zeros on stuff even after I withdrew (why?). Shes part of the reason why I dont want to minor in psych anymore. I recommend trying to avoid her if you can.

DO NOT take her. She is an overly tough grader. I took her for a winter class and did nothing but sit @ my computer for 9 hrs/ day reading and working on the discussion board. She expects you to buy an overpriced textbook, makes you read it, and then teaches/tests on HER opinions. I am a straight-A student and have never felt so discouraged. awful

Literally a nightmare. Uses a book but then says "don't listen to the book its WRONG." - Great choice of text then. Her online course is so much workload, and she basically just seems never happy with however much effort you put in. Her quizzes state that all of the info is in her "wrap up" discussion, but its not. two words, NEVER AGAIN.

Condescending professor, most I have ever paid for someone to make me feel stupid. Very unfortunate I love psych and this professor has made this class miserable. Rambles on online posts, typos make it difficult to understand, trick questions on quizes. Worst professor I have ever had very sorry I took a class with her.

She is one of the worst professors I've had! She doesn't answer questions from students, constantly says that book is wrong (then why did she pick it?!). She also threatens students with zeros on things that they already got a grade for. Do Not Take Her class if you can avoid it!

If you have a question, she won't answer it. She will say go look at syllabus. Obviously I am asking because you are not clear on the syllabus. I hate this class and can't wait to be done. Awful teacher. Everyone dislikes her, and it far from a good teacher. Had no respect for students. Do not take her. She lives in her own world.

Awful teacher. Has many rules that not teacher I have ever had has had. She is very confusing. She thinks we are Harvard grad students! I would never take a class with her again. Not very helpful. Doesn't even teach you what the book says. She uses her "own words." Whatever that is. Whatever she says go, you can never explain to her what is wrong.

She is a very hard teacher and grader. There is alot of work and readings. But if you keep up with her deadlines, post the way she likes them done and follow the schedule she gives you in the beginning of each week you are golden. Little tip, her quizzes come straight from the wrap-ups. If you have these handy during the quizzes you will do great!

Gives extensive quizzes and required discussion posts on her syllabus. She ends every other sentence with "...okay?" and posts in 15 different colors. It comes across a condescending. It is difficult to get in contact with her and her response are usually riddles with grammatical errors and emoticons.

Previous reviews are right. Class is easy if you simply print out her wrap-ups so you know what the "correct" answers are. It was weird to be reading one chapter while posting to the discussion board for last week's reading/topic. Overall she came across as condescending and controlling. Made sure I won't be taking another class with her.

She teaches what SHE knows. You're assigned to read the text and engage in discussions on this reading, but it seems pointless. She wraps up the reading with her take on the topic (which may be more accurate than the text) and tests you on this. Courses are easy as long as you follow the very detailed syllabus. Not a bad professor, just particular.

She is nice, but her online course sucks. Unclear discussion questions and quizzes, strange policies regarding contacting her, makes you juggle several chapters at once which makes learning subject more difficult. Also needs to improve her understanding of Blackboard to make it easier for students. I wouldn't recommend it.
