Comment:
Dr Roth is absolutely brilliant and well worth the challenge. Although his language can be a bit much at time, he has a great sense of humor that somehow always ties it all together. The class is def not an easy A but it is possible and he makes it worth it.

Brad Roth is a great guy and clearly knows his stuff. He will advise you and be available for office hours. He will buy you pizza after your tests. But this course is very dense and his vocabulary is very very high. So high to the point you cannot take notes and pay attention at the same time. The denseness makes it easy to get lost in lecture

Dr. Roth is a great professor who clearly knows his subjects inside and out. I learned a ton, and I can say definitively that I got my tuition's worth from this class. Having said that, some of these comments are correct. He uses some pretty difficult vocabulary, and you really have to actively pay attention during lecture. Worth it though!

So, he buys you pizza after the mid term and final..... that's an upside. Before taking any of his classes i am suggesting you get the book a month in advance and read it religiously. He is utterly brilliant and you can feel it. Make sure you have a solid foundation of political and legal theory before taking any of his classes. God Bless NJ

Brilliant man; hard to understand because his vocabulary is elitist, as if he's lecturing to policy experts and not students (think Ivy League - he graduated from Harvard, Columbia, Berkley); very politically correct, lectures for most of class, some class interaction, does not use media - old school approach; two written exams, two papers.

Fantastic professor, one of the best in the PS department. The material is very challenging and there is a lot of reading, but he is always ready to help his students and explain topics. He is extremely intelligent, so his lectures are very sophisticated, but you get used to it and it's actually a blessing in disguise. Fair grader as well!

This was my first class with him, and I liked and disliked many things. First, he's really helpful. He accommodated me extensively during the semester. However, I found him hard to talk to. And yes, his language is complex but honestly it was fine. Sometimes I really felt like he was unnecessarily tough (i.e., term paper AND final exam).

I have had Dr. Roth for several Political Science classes as well as a couple classes at the Law School. He is absolutely the most helpful professor. If you befriend him he can help you reach all of your goals, he has been to the top and back. His explanations are difficult sometimes because his language is a bit more sophisticated. He's great.

The man is absolutely brilliant. It is easy to get lost in his lectures, but you just have to pay extra attention to grasp everything. The reading can be a bit dry at points, but it's a fun class. Highly recommended.

He is brilliant and very interesting. The class is never boring. He is very helpful and is available to meet with students and will help in any way he can. He's pretty funny too. I definitely recommend taking this class.

This is the most bone-dry class I have ever taken in my life. The material is so ridiculously mundane and complex, I guarantee you will want to gouge your ears out with a fork. Roth is a good guy, very intelligent (too much so for our own good), but even a circus clown could not make this class the least bit interesting. The pizza is not worth it.

In Prof Roth's class you will learn so much more than you expect. Prof Roth is brilliant and cares about his students and his material (plus he is funny). If you want to learn (better) how to think and you are willing to commit some effort, you should take a class with him. Warning: any easy notions about human rights will be challenged.

Professor Roth is one of the most intelligent and approachable professors at WSU. He is a well established international legal scholar, and it shows. He is also extremely helpful with helping students develop otherwise. He challenges you in a good way. The material (Int'l Law, and Human Rights)is thick but he is there to help you pick it apart.

Definately the best professor I've ever had. Does his best to keep the class interested. Gives you the exam to study 2 weeks before the actual exam. Takes the class out for pizza after exam. Enroll in his class before you graduate.

Prof. Roth is the one of the smartest as well as nicest professors i have ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable but is never pompous or arrongant and it is very unfair for others to say otherwise. He is always willing to help and meet with students any time. His class is not easy but if you read and attend class then you should do fine. 2essay

Brilliant! Rumor has it that he once won a game of Connect 4 in only three moves! Do yourself a favor and don't go through the program without taking Roth. Great insights and very respectful of others who are not at his level. And that's good because that includes almost anyone who takes his class.

Couldn't ask for a better teacher. Dr. Roth is very committed to the International Leagal project has published a lot of articles on the subject. He is one of the fairest graders but by no means easy. I would reccomend this teacher!

didn't have a clue what he was talking about for the first month - international law has a lot of jargon - but once I got that down, I really REALLY enjoyed the class. He's a fair grader.

Dr. Roth is an amazing professor that will go to extreme lengths to help a student in any way possible. The work load for his classes are demanding, but his grading scale is fair. I had him straight out of HS, I was certainly no Harvard grad and his grades and assessments of my work were extremely fair. He is definitely opinionated, but has no trouble representing and under represented opinion, and will do so at will whenever necessary. Highly recommonded in my book. "Cheers" Dr. Roth
