Pretty easy summer class, not many assignments to do and pretty easy for people who aren't music majors. Writing assignments are short which is super nice for a summer class I recommend taking.

He's very helpful and gives feedback on papers, tells you exactly what he wants. Has a lot of funny stories and overall is a well-rounded and experienced musician.

He is very good at helping in his office hours. He didn't respond to my email so I ended up having to go in which was slightly frustrating but he did help. The class is pretty boring (I took the WI).. Second half of the semester was a flipped classroom so all work was done outside of class. Quizzes all online which was nice.

Comment:

Gets the best out of his students more than any teacher, will help with your psyche and ego as well as playing. Def plays favorites, but his favorites are just the ones that care, rather than the ones that don't. Always in your corner. Fantastic musician but easy to slack off around/very low pressure. Will get you into your school of choice.

Bruce is a nice guy out of class, but in class he picks favorites and tends to over-emphasize horn and not say much about trumpet. He also doesn't explain things well for non-brass players sometimes. It's cornEt, not cornIt, Bruce, such a Canadian!

Goofy...knows what he is talking about. Approachable, fairly flexible, and willing to help. Teaches with great clarity, and expects a lot from his students. That's not a bad thing.
